Maybe if they used something narrower than a 15mm lens.

Perhaps the track didn't want them flying over the actual course which is why they hung back so far?

I know a lot of motorcycle orgs have banned the things flying over the track when it's hot.

Yeah it's just a GoPro4, but that's all I have. No flying over the cars allowed at this track day, but I'm hoping the next event I will be able to.

Brushed stainless, it's actually factory on the Biarritz cars. I had an 84 with the 4100 V8 (hunk of poo poo, btw)

Ah, this was indeed a Biarritz. Even had that hokey burglar alarm with a key in the fender, though I'm not sure if that's factory or aftermarket (certainly period-correct though).

My mom also had an 84 Eldo. Not a Biarritz though.

That's one of SHP Engineering's RSR Escorts, Mk1 shell on a tubular steel frame chassis. Otherwise known as 'what I will buy myself if I ever have a lot of money to blow on a car I don't need'.

Do those cars actually get raced or are they only toys to bring to a track day?

I mean they own regardless but an actual race series with those running would be epic.

Depends how you define 'raced' as the one I posted is a time attack car.

I love mk1 escorts.

People in AI are saying ford are doing a lot of nice new things now. But ford designed the escort, cortina, falcon, mustang and gt40 a long long time ago. They've always been right, just not always in the USA :D
E: the 80s weren't good, (But I can't say that IRL as Dick Johnson will punch me), but anyway that's where my appreciation of mazdas fit in.

The prices on used MK1 Escorts put them right in excellent project car territory too. They look great.

Well can't argue that, I just think it would be pretty epic to see cars that look like that going door to door in a corner.

I believe those three get raced in various UK series, the green one is over in Ireland I think. No specific series just for RSR escorts though, it would be a small, but awesome field.

Loads of detail pictures on their facebook page, they tend to run rolling updates whenever they build one. Rolling chassis was about £12k last time I checked.

My first two cars were Mk1 Escorts, of the kind a 17 year old kid with not much money might buy in the mid nineties. The first one got demolished by a lady in a volvo after me and my Dad had spent months replacing panels and restoring it, the second rotted to nothing after I moved away from home and the help I needed to keep an old car running.

These look kind of 90's coupe to me in a good way. The bonnet and beltline look really sleek and low for a modern car - the overall dimensions and cleanness of design give me a real 8 series/z32/supra vibe.
