Psion posted:

do you only have one support? Are your supports trying to AA-12 trash? Because otherwise, Supplier is amazing. It only gets better with 2+ supports. I regularly play Suicidal and I think it's fine there the way it works now. One full mag for all your guns and another grenade, just like an ammo box. Except it's an ammo box you can yell at over Mumble and it's an ammo box for all 5 teammates.

It saves you money every single round so you get your tier-3/4 guns faster - an entire wave faster if you're diligent about it. It lets your supports reload off each other and take down another scrake/fp per wave for "free" and it means your supports can hog all the on-map ammo boxes because everyone else can reload off the supports. It means your medics have piles of heal grenades to save your life, your commandos/supports have tons of grenades to carpet bomb piles of zeds, your berserker always has ammo/fuel for their high power attacks, etc.

it is a good perk bonus. In fact it is probably the best level 5 one, even better than Call Out.

3 supports and some diligent weapon selling at the end of early waves means I can do stupid things like get an AA-12 on wave 3. It's great.

This is a very accurate analysis. I don't know why people were saying supplier isn't good. I think it's NECESSARY. Also on harder difficulties other classes get upset if I'm not using it, which is fair .

All right, I'm going to go against the grain and say I like the M4. It "feels" a lot better to me than the KF1 version, in that it seems punchier and a little faster to reload, plus I quite enjoy not having to pump after every shot. The spread is nice and tight too - great for popping Siren heads. Just fun to use, easily as much so as the hunting shotgun.

Its weight, however, is total BS. Both the other gun-using classes can carry their T3 and T4 weapons at the same time; Support can only manage it if they take the carry capacity perk. The M4 is good, but not good enough to justify its weight, or taking the perk to compensate.

I wish I could run around the last few waves with a M4/AA12 combo, as using precious AA12 ammo on anything other than Scrakes/FPs is a waste, and sometimes I don't feel like rushing in every time to make sure I hit with more than a couple of the hunting shotgun's pellets. So I guess what I'm trying to say is that some adjustments would be nice.
I can agree that the KF2 combat shotgun is definitely better than the KF1 Combat shotgun.

KF1 the combat shotgun was more expensive by a large margin than any support weapon that wasn't the AA12. It did the same damage as the generic pump. It held less ammo, and took longer to reload. Though at least it weight the same as the generic pump, you were basically paying entirely for semi auto, but also getting penalties (compared to the generic pump) on top which really killed my enthusiasm for trying it more.

In KF2, at least it deals slightly more damage per shot than the generic pump... But the generic pump can hold two more shots, and the Boomstick and AA12 show the same damage listing in the trader screen so why loving bother.

If it was tweaked to be worthwhile at all, then it could be fun to go boomstick+combat shotgun even if they kept the 8 weight. But as it is even if they cut the AA12's damage or clip capacity in half it still would not be worth taking the combat shotgun. Give it bonkers 40 damage shotgun shells or something, the AA12 would still deal twice as much damage per clip and not have to reload shells one at a time.

I am still convinced that literally the only reason it weighs 8 is so you need the carry capacity talent to have it and the AA12 at the same time, and then only those with outside of a medic pistol. +3 weight for LESS ammo and a semi auto fire mode, Not even comparing it to the AA12 that is pretty loving  because it is the heaviest gun in the game that isn't some 10 weight monstrosity (or the flamethrower which is also 8).

EDIT: That said, it is totally not a priority fix subject because the Support's other guns are all pretty loving great, so the combat shotgun being something you want to skip (if you could even carry it) is just a money saver right now.

vvv I thought it was 44 total myself. Trader screen for Combat Shotgun says Mag 6, Capacity 50. Pump is 8/48, Boomstick 2/55.

Maybe I'm checking some outdated screenshots right now? Or maybe there is some quirkyness in what the trader says vs what you get?

I never played kf1. Were there any other game modes? Like some kind of l4d thing because i think that would suit this game well. Except mix it with some counterstrike VIP map stuff and one guy is randomly only allowed to use their pistol, knife and welder. The others have to escort them through a series of welded shut doors as they defend them while they open them. And get to a safehouse/ trader room and another person is randomly selected. The semiauto M4 gives you faster follow up shots so you run through the same amount of ammo faster, making it feel smaller. Each individual shot is more effective in my experience though. Consistently gets me 1 hit kills on Gorefasts on the upper torso close-in on hard difficulty, pump action required a headshot to do that. I haven't the time or autism to seriously try out Suicidal (yet) so maybe the ammo scarcity and trigger discipline becomes an issue then when ammo boxes are scarcer but on occasion I'll roll with the double barrel and M4 on my way to AA12 supremacy and I'll do fine.

My trigger discipline is much better than it was in KF1 because it is a hell of a lot easier to tell when enemies die to a shotgun blast to the torso, for the best reasons thanks to the MEAT system. I admit the occasions I tried the combat shotty in KF1, trigger discipline was a bit somewhat a lot constant problem for my dumb rear end :downs:

Man lots of hackers tonight :/

Apparently there's a way to dupe weapons as these guys were throwing down like 4 or 5 AA12s in a row:

Since they're all Support I'm assuming these all involve boosting yourself around with the double barrel shotty. I hope TW doesn't remove that as it can be used to bounce away from FPs and Scrakes if used properly.

There's no way to unjoin a map you're downloading. I picked a custom map and the game started downloading it. I realized the difficulty was too high for my low perk level dudes and tried to back out. All I can do is click "OK" and then the download progress windows closes and immediately opens again. I can't even exit through the menu. My only option is to kill the game via task manager.

It seems more like an exploit than outright hacking. Also, you can still buy and use Double Barrel shotties regardless of perk. You just don't get any experience from it.

Most likely, like the test your strength game in the KF1 carnival stage. But buying 4 or 5 AA12s by Wave 3 is definitely a hack; if all those weapons we see in that one screenshot are Tier 4 I count at least 17 which is 25,500 dosh. Dude had money/carry weight tweaks probably.

Tripwire wouldn't need to get rid of the Double Barrel knockback, just put or scale up some invisible walls at the boundaries, especially for notorious examples. I mean heck, my brother played the poo poo out of some custom server in KF1 run by a guy named Guardian I think and one of the strategies there was to use custom classes/weapons to boost yourself or teammates onto roofs and ledges outside the map just by their insane knockback.

Also, the custom map downloading problem I had the other day. Dunno why there's no "Press ESC to cancel" when downloading or switching maps after completing a game like in KF1 yet.

I have only seen one group of hackers and they were of course level 25. But they didn't help make the map any fun. DBS is a great backup weapon if you can stand losing one of your on-perk guns. It lets any class instantly erase at least 2 lower tier zeds that get in their face, super helpful for escaping or keeping Gores and Stalkers off your rear end, and with a well aimed headshot can one or two shot Bloats and Husks.
