I'm not sure how you'd get that thing registered in California without some magic. I know there's some diesel smog weirdness you can get away with, but can anyone fill me in here?

Its kinda weird that they're running the ads in the bay area but the cars are in from Vancouver BC.

The 'more ads by this person' link shows this weird car that i've never heard of before:

This is a one of a kind project car. It has been my daily driver for the past 3 years and has treated me well but its time to move on.
It runs and drives well but needs someone with more patience than me to finish the cosmetic work.
The inside is rough and needs the attention to detail and wiring prowess that is beyond my level of patience.
One update on the car. I did a quick primer paint job on the car. Most of it came out pretty good however I ran out of time in the garage and so there are a few touch ups that need to be done. I still think it looks great though.
I am picking up the rest of the parts from storage on Sunday so everything will be together. These parts include some of the missing interior parts as well as the bottom chrome trim pieces.

1974 Stingray Corvette with T-tops
2002 VW Diesel Engine
Toyota truck 5 spd transmission
Acme Adapters adapter plate to put them together
Excellent tires

This car gets 55+ mpg and is a blast to drive!
I am looking for $3500 obo. It cost me about $12,000 to put it all together.
I can do partial cash and trade but there are not a ton of things I am looking for. A few of those include 7x12 (ish) enclosed trailer and guns. Unless you have an old Triumph car or a Triumph motorcycle I don't need any more vehicles.

If you are in the market for a TDI motor than you will know that they don't come cheap. Get this one that runs and drives and in a project car you can make all your own!

This is a great running project to get into at the start of the summer driving season so come take a look!

Any questions or to take a look email me and I will get right back to you.

You can't be serious.
Yeah "daily driver" don't really mean poo poo. My friend had a Trans Am where, in order to turn off the wipers, he would push in the clutch, turn off the key, turn off the wipers, turn on the key, and then let out the clutch, all at highway speed. So "daily driver" is a ymmv thing, even if it's not a horrible Frankenstein machine.

I know they're not really good cars or anything but this is loving exactly what I had in high school and all through college... that car and I had some sort of magical connection, it was so comfortable to drive and never gave me any trouble. The price is pretty loving ridiculous, though, for a 14 year old Korean car.

That used to be a difficult thing. For about 7 or 8 years now it's a pretty easy thing as far as motor swaps go.

Not only can you flat out just buy the mounts, bell housing and exhaust pre-fab but it's been done enough that it's well understood how to make all the gauges work and even AWD and suspension features.

If I ever find a failed engine 996 at the right price that's about what's gonna happen to it.

Best Dead Gay Forums
on the whole Internet!
People do that because getting the factory engine repaired/replaced is much, much more expensive and there is a series of those cars that is bad to get completely utterly hosed because of the intermediate shaft bearing.

Think of where the Cam on an air cooled VW engine is, on the Porsche engine there's a sort of jackshaft that drives the overhead cams and the bearings for it get hosed up, destroying the engine.

I am happy with my Miata. It is more fun to drive on the street than the S2000. I am happy with my Miata. Even though it has no power for passing on the highway and the trunk smells like gas and I'm too tall for safety and the manual roof with zip window is kind of a hassle and there's no cruise control for long freeway drives and no LSD and...no, I'm happy with my Miata.

wilfredmerriweathr
Jul 11, 2005
Yeah I was just sitting here thinking if there was any honda I would pay 20K for, and then you said it for me. I would absolutely spend that much on a super clean NSX because really I'd be able to get all my money back out of it down the road, provided I didn't wrap it around a tree.

Can you even get a clean NSX for $20k these days? I think $20k is high for an S2000 but that one is low mileage and nice.

I think I found 2 ex-family owned cars on CL today. Pretty sure this is Bibendum's old miata

correct color/year and I would be surprised if there were 2 miata's running around here with that body damage.

This sprite is the right year/color as my dad's old car

The ad and their site lack any real details about the car, so it's harder to tell if it is the same car. I might have to make the drive out there to check it out just in case, seeing as that was the car I learned to drive manual in.
