Imo huge missed opportunity not having the church lady slam the door on Cersai mid sentence at the end. "I'm the last thing you'll see bef...*slam*" is how it should have gone down.

VoidBurger posted:Yo, the Faith Militant are gonna find out real quick that Tommen's an incest bastard and then there goes the neighborhood! I'm not sure they can, because I think their legitimacy is tied explicitly to the orders of the King (or in this case the King's Regent). If Tommen is declared a bastard, then the Faith suddenly loses their morality courts and secret police. Even if this were not the case, then the loss of Tommen immediately raises the question of leadership. If Tommen is not the real king, who is? Mircella, the sister of the incest baby? Stannis, the heathen who conspires against the Seven Kingdoms via dark magic? Once you remove Cersei's children, there seems to be literally no one the Faith can point to as an alternative.

Does the FM give a poo poo about the crown? And Tommen may* be a bastard but he hasn't broken any of the faith right? Pretty much everyone else with the Lannister name is a horrible monster but Tommen is basically a naive kid that probably couldn't do any wrong if he tried.

Yeah there actually is no "one correct way" for a woman to act after a sexual assault. In fact, a lot of women who were assaulted have their story challenged because they didn't act like the police or whoever thought they should in the aftermath.

They lose the morality courts and secret police when someone with an army can make them give it up. I don't think the Faith Militant is the type to go "Oh well the guy who let us do all this shouldn't have been king anyway, time to pack it up." Also I'm pretty sure they're starting to look at the monarchy itself as more trouble than its worth, so the crisis of "who is king now?" isn't a problem to them.

Doesn't matter who it is, the FM is full-on for purity and following the Book. Tommen has a lot of growing up to do. I don't think he's going to make it - the unanswered challenges to his authority and his lack of leadership ability mean his powerbase is falling away. He's a good kid, but just didn't have the chance to grow into the role and didn't have any support in terms of mentors and advisors that could help shape him.

Nothing about Ramsay's character is believable to me. Every other major villain has at least felt complex while he just feels like a super villain. Yes, there's his shame at being a bastard and trying to impress Roose but they just feel like such small facets of his character when 99% of the time we just see him running around smirking like a psychopath. It probably feels worse because outside of scenes with Roose he absolutely never ends up worse for wear. We see Sansa actually get up the courage to taunt him about being a bastard and then he instantly gains the upper hand by showing her the flayed old lady to crush her hopes. It's just exhausting.

Tommen needs to get the City Watch, Kingsguard and whatever Lannister soldiers he has and kill every sparrow in town. Every single one. Sure they will riot, gently caress them. Joffrey would be a better king at this point.

Surely "our Sansa liaison getting flayed" is a much better and more noticeable signal to Stark sympathizers than "a candle in a window".

Remember Jofferey? Before his wedding, the worst thing that happened to him was having some poo poo thrown at his face. The only difference is that Ramsay's "poo poo onto face" is being potentially delegitimized by Fat Walda.

Speaking of which, did I miss something, or did the not explain at all how Ramsey knew exactly who to flay? Like, Sansa didn't give Theon a description of the woman who told her about the candle or anything, she was just all "I have friends, if you do this thing for me they'll get us out." Was that the only old Stark servant still in the castle or something?
