Runner previews are out for the June kits: MG Wing Gundam Fenice Rinascita - http://gundamguy.blogspot.com.au/2015/06/mg-1100-gundam-fenice-rinascita-manual.html RE/100 Dijeh - http://gundamguy.blogspot.com.au/2015/06/re100-msk-008-dijeh-manual-runner.html HGUC REVIVE Guncannon - http://gundamguy.blogspot.com.au/2015/06/hguc-1144-guncannon-revive-ver-manual.html The color separation of the Dijeh looks decent. Not a lot of stickers compared to the RE/100 MK III and GP04.

OK, G-Reco time. Here's all the kits I've assembled thus far - still got a G-Self with Space Pack to put together. After that, I might go for the G-Lucifer, G-Arcane, Gaeon, and Gastima. Maybe the Kabakali and Dahack when the former comes out. To run through them individually: The Elf Bullock has issues with poseability thanks to its limb design, and its stand leans slightly too far forward. Fortunately, the design is badass and imposing enough that it's not a big deal, and the stickers are mostly straightforward. The Catsith is, as you'd expect from a grunt suit, a solidly-engineered design with minimal, easy-to-apply stickers, and the joints on the subarms in the shins are just stiff enough to let it wield its beam sabers properly, as my pics demonstrate. The trigger-holding right hand was a neat innovation, too, and it'll be cool to see future HG suits with that. It's got a surprisingly big parts count for what it is, and the huge, heavy backpack causes obvious (though not insurmountable) balance issues, but those are really my only complaints. The Mack Knife is exactly as simple and flexible a kit as you'd expect - some of the stickers are very small and fiddly, but I got the hang of it eventually, and the skinny arms have obvious consequences for poseability (not much room for ball joints). Still, it was quick and easy to build, and you can do lots of entertainingly stupid kung-fu poses with it - come to think of it, I might give the Bruce Lee flying kick a go. I had a couple of issues with the Space Jahannam. I felt I got the cross-shaped monoeye looking good more through accident than design, the heel stickers didn't seem necessary (they surely could have accomplished the same thing with a couple of extra parts instead), and the shoulder thruster stickers had a small area of contact, making it easy for them to fall off. Not only that, but the size and position of the shield inhibits the left arm's poseability, and the beam axe is held loosely - don't worry, it won't fall off, but it means you have to be a bit less anal about posing. Other than that, it's a good, solid kit, but I think the above niggles deserve mention. The Grimoire lives up to its reputation - I especially liked the clever engineering work on its head. The shield connection is slightly weird, but that's the biggest issue I can think of. The Montero has three downright evil stickers on its collar and shoulders, and its small feet cause mild balance issues, but it's a good kit otherwise.

Well, I think I'm done with MG Unicorns for a while. I don't even know what I'd do with the one I have sitting in parts with a bunch missing because I scrapped a bunch to replace lost/broken bits. Nothing at all.

So Deathscythe Hell is pretty cool and all, what with the whole demonic bat-winged God of Death thang it's got going on. However, as they say, gunpla is freedom, and I don't think there's any reason Heero should have a monopoly on the angel of death schtick. So, Deathscythe Heaven. Decals mostly courtesy of MG Exia and PG 00 Raiser, as there are apparently very few suits that have blue decals, at least as far as suits with waterslide sets go. The scythe blade turned out a lot better than I was expecting; my hope was that clear blue over the clear green would make clear turquiose, and I was all set to be disappointed. But, as you can see, it worked out just fine. Quite happy with this guy, and with him finished I'm finally going to get working on MG Sinanju, who has been gathering dust in my closet for months now as I build up my skills and equipment.

I just spent 5 minutes crawling around on my hands and knees looking for a part of my RG Exia's chest that wasn't attached. It was on the sprue and I hadn't attached it this morning when I thought I did. edit: gently caress poo poo balls I snipped a piece off without looking close enough at the instructions and removed a peg for the shoulder cable ribbon thing to attach to the right arm, doesn't look repairable so I think I'm going to have to order a kit from gunpla.co.uk just so I can use their replacement part service. I was planning to get an RG Destiny sometime soon anyway so it's not a huge ballache, biggest problem is I can't do the right shoulder at all until I get the part. I tried practicing on my old GP01 HGUC but I need to get a newer, less dull knife because I could barely get through any of the plastic of the nub.

Welp, after a few years doing seasonal contract work for this company, I just got brought on full-time, which includes a nice bonus, a raise, and stable year-round hours. So I dug deep and dropped money for a personal grail. Preemptive apologies for anyone who likes simple, non-busy designs. Just last week, I thought this thing would be forever out of my financial grasp. I'm so excited to start work on that in 6-8 months. Got the last one too. Should probably start learning how to solder. Please mock my bad decisions ACES CURE PLANES fucked around with this message at 18:32 on Jun 18, 2015 |

Congrats on the promotion and your good decision making. I hope to see a wip post when you're finally allowed to put it together. I sprayed some Vallejo metalics today. The gunmetal, steel and silver all went on perfectly. The gold was a lumpy mess that clogged me up and artic blue didn't play nice either. At least the gold was the right colour, I've been told they had an old formula that was awful. Am I boned on these paints and need new pots, or is there a way to filter? I could pour them through some stockings stretched over the cup I guess? Would that work or do metallics need a certain lumpiness? Should I just keep shaking?

so things I've learned: Don't actually try to get HGCC Turn A to hold its rifle by the top handle with the weapons hands. Apparently this induces enough strain on the rear peg where the thumb connects to the palm to shear half the drat thing off the remaining peg+the square peg in the fingers section is enough to hold the hand together with the rifle normally, but holy poo poo. The G-System Deep Striker conversion kit is way less busy, and has a way lower LED count. So it looks like they're doing something totally original! Huh. You can see a bunch of the prototype shots here, with concept drawings and stuff. Almost 50 LEDs https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10152428257636897.1073741878.382602901896 And thanks for the congratulations everyone. I'll make sure to have the occasional WIP of that.

At the very worst, you can get it off of ebay for a bit higher, which shouldn't be too troubling for a lawyer. The Xi isn't going for much over list price on there, so there's always that. The only thing you'd miss out on is Samuel's custom decal sheets with classic UC designs.
