I don't really get the furor over minions, though that might be because I haven't been exposed to the memes. They're charming but also somewhat banal, and those aren't mutually exclusive in my opinion.

Minions : Despicable Me :: Rabbids : Rayman Rabbids and Minions are terrible when they become the focus, but fine when they're in the background. Although that never really happened with Rabbids, they were instantly the focus and instantly terrible.

Rabbids were so forced that they put loving three of them into a TMNT game for....reasons? http://turtlepedia.wikia.com/wiki/Rabbids One of them was named "Splinter Rabbid", but was actually a tie-in for Splinter Cell. Who thought this was a good idea at all?

A discussion in BSS about Jack Kirby's designs for Roger Zelazny's "Lord of Light" led me looking for alternate interpretations. And I found this artist who has done some pretty fantastic work, getting the mix between fantasy and superscience almost perfect. These need to be seen in high resolution so here's the full images as thumbs. Idea boards with inspiration material intermixed: Kali in full battle dress: Yama-Dharma's prayer machine: There's a bunch more, too, if you're a fan of the book (and I am a huge fan of the book).
