What percentage of Trump supporters do you suppose wear a tie on a regular basis?

Anyone who works in an office, is a used car salesman, a manager at Burger King or Wal-Mart. Hell I might wear a tie like 4 times a year but I still own several, and the clothing line has button up shirts which every adult man who doesn't live in a cave needs several of. The point is, the bad publicity in any form can galvanize supporters from lukewarm to full fledged soldiers in the Trump army.
It's early still granted, but so far we don't have any evidence that all of Trump's recent bad publicity has hurt his polls politically. If you want a real world analogy, consider the support Phil Robertson got when he made his homophobic statements and realize that many of those supporters were advocating "free speech" and probably never seen an episode of Duck Dynasty before. See also Paula Deen and racism.

Trump is about to jump in the polls cause he has the balls to ask the question all American's are thinking...

Who's doing the raping?

Future republican nominee for President posted:

"If you go to Fusion, you will see a story: About 80% of the women coming in, you know who owns Fusion? Univision! Go to Fusion and pick up the stories on rape. It's unbelievable when you look at what's going on. So all I'm doing is telling the truth," Trump said.

Lemon replied that the press stories are about women being raped, but not about criminals coming across the border.

"Well, somebody's doing the raping, Don! I mean somebody's doing it! Who's doing the raping? Who's doing the raping?" he asked.

He has done no damage, bad news only causes Trump to grow stronger and his supporters to swell. Trump could punt a Mexican baby tomorrow and he would gain 3 points in the polls.

The only thing that will ever damage Trumps brand is if someone can irrefutably prove his net worth isn't even half of what he claims it is.

If his name is supposed to stand for style, quality, or some other bullshit and he's going out and loudly shouting how he's a racist piece of poo poo it makes "Trump" go from quality to Toxic and you get people wondering why they'd go to a hotel/casino/golf course/store with such a toxic name.

Whatever his name is worth as a brand right now it is significantly less than it was worth a week or a month ago. I have no doubt his run is solely to try and boost his value as a brand but if he shouts to the world he's a massive racist rear end in a top hat then the whole "was a presidential candidate" thing isn't going to inflate his name brand enough to offset that.

Any points Trump gains in the polls are great for Democrats and terrible for the GOP. They do not, I repeat, DO NOT want him as their standard bearer, and a Hillary/Trump race would be a laugher.

Personally, I hope he continues to do what he's doing. It'll fracture the right, torch his brand even more, and when the GOP inevitably elbows him out of the race his empire will be in ruins.

That's not why they don't want Trump to be the nominee. They don't want him as the nominee because he is the right's unfiltered id and they will get buried in a reverse-Reagan landslide, especially if Hillary is his opponent.

Whether he says the crap he says for attention or not is irrelevant (he does). The horrendous out-and-out racism, coupled with the lawsuit against Univision that he will almost certainly lose, is a one-two toxic punch.

Here is the thing, no one can win at arguing against Trump because there is nothing to argue with, he is a completely boorish cartoon clown villain, there is no way you can debate that so he wins unless you completely dismiss him as the fool he is.

Unfortunately a sizable portion of the population won't dismiss him because they are idiots and when you have a whole roster of crazy it's hard to get enough points out of the people that actually like you and/or your platform instead of just supporting a "winner".

Oh, I completely forgot about Christie. He's a complete shitheel but in the least socially harmful ways. Definitely Christie followed by Rubio. Santorum's got 13th century views on practically everything but he isn't going to get all fire and brimstone about it. He's been through a good few elections so he's built up a better "interacting with people" skillset than most of the GOP.

Yup. As long as you stay away from the 'gamble-y' markets like predicting polling numbers or when candidates will announce it's pretty easy to make some beer money with it. Way earlier they opened the 'Will Putin remain in power through 2015?' and I bought in super super low 'yes'. It's now in the high 90s.
