Is bard suppose to click for me eventually? I'm 55, and I get the point of saving Barrage for Empyreal Arrow, but for some reason just tacking on that one extra skill to keep track of has got me dropping the ball on dps.

Aery's a handful of quests past that point (mostly just running back and forth between places), while Vault is several quests past that, though it's gated at level 57. It's a weirdly empty stretch between Aery and Vault, as far as MSQ goes, so you'll probably have to buckle down and do all the Moogle quests to actually get all the way to 57.

Not a rant, not a rage-quit, not meant for anyone in the community; only SE.

Square Enix, you have a deadline. I have 3 weeks left on my monthly subscription. You have that long to: (a) fix the myriad problems with machinist dps, or (b) fix the problems with bard stances and mobility, or (c) give the community a commitment to do one or the other by a specific, reasonable date. (Waiting until after Alex is not "reasonable".)

Otherwise, I'll withdraw my subscription. There are other games out there for me to play or go back to, and it is not worth my time and money to be asked consistently to leave a dungeon in the first 30 seconds, because my one character is a bard and my other character is a machinist. (Yes, I can return to BLM, but I never liked the lack of mobility, and there are other games with mobile dps "battle mages".)

That's all. Answer, don't answer, do as you see fit, SE. But now you know my position.
Thanks for the fun, up until Heavensward level 55.

Specialization was never meant to remove the ability to do everything, it was meant to make it more accessible to people who don't want to smash everything to 60 and drop twenty million gil on melds. That's why the only meaningful skills for cross-class are found at 54, and even most of those are optional.

The intent wasn't to make it so that omnicrafting isn't viable, it was to make it so that you could make do with having just a few crafters leveled, rather than needing a whole bunch of poo poo at max to have all the abilities you need to craft poo poo well

The way they worded it in the patch notes make it sound like they'll give out more specialization tokens in the future, too.

Not personally, but I have voted to kick out an archer because he kept running ahead to pull mobs I wasn't pulling, and DPSing clearly unmarked mobs.

Haunting you until no 8 arrives.
So, due to disconnects and no luck with duty finder giving us a new DPS (somehow), I ended up 3-manning the last boss of the last 4-person dungeon in the MSQ. It was me as a SCH, a DRK, and a SMN. I don't know how it worked, but it did.

Also, the ensuing trial was a shining example of where Selene's AoE ensuna is helpful.

Rei_ posted:

What? I've only ever gotten admiration for when I'm on the ball with stance dancing and not being lazy. I think a lot of people silently judge healers who don't stance dance (barring things like gigantic pulls, where you probably won't have time to stance dance).

I've gotten kicked from exactly one dungeon - a Keeper of the Lake in which the tank could not keep healing aggro from me (a Scholar), despite being in Shield Oath / 110 weapon, and was adamant that I was loving with them somehow. I told them they were the worst tank i've ever dealt with with after our second wipe to the first boss, and they rage kicked me.

To this day, i've never wiped to the first boss of Keeper except with that tank.

I never worked on gearing up DoH/DoL jobs at 50. I took them all to 50 and then just ignored them. I know nothing about any of the crafting books or any of that poo poo.

So far, I just took fishing to 60. This was done by burning hella leves to get through the first few levels and then burning collectibles for the last levels.

I don't have any level 50 gathering gear (though I do have level 51 gathering gear). What is going to be my best way of taking my gatherer's from 50 to 51 without having to dump a lot of money into gearing them for one level?

For my crafters, what is going to be the best way for them? I only have an unmelded HQ patrician's set on my crafters. I assume just working on turning in collectables, but with my poo poo gear, will I even be able to manage to craft them?

Also, I was looking at the scrip exchanger in Revanant's Toll - What are these Delineations for sale? And the "Master <Class> III" books are there, do I need to get the I and II books?

I got kicked as a healer my first time through Syrcus Tower because I didn't revive the healers in the other groups when they died on Scylla. Also because I probably didn't do mechanics right or something.

Reviving people in other groups is a pain in the rear end on controller.

I've seen some Bismarck PFs that lock out bards and machs but that's all.

Both the ranged classes have Problems right now, especially MCH, but I think in some ways it's turning into one of those MMO optimization things where Dunning-Kreuger types who know just enough to be dangerous blow balance issues out of proportion and "BRD/MCH have slightly lackluster DPS and the cast time stances are dubiously valuable" becomes "BARD'S FUCKIN BROKEN NOBODY CAN PLAY IT." At the same time though, I get the impression that the majority of the playerbase--even at endgame--aren't tuned in enough to meta balance discussions to even really be aware there's a perceived issue, and the only people who really make a thing of it are your typical MMO assholes.
