My most Walmart experience at Walmart was probably about eight years back, the time when me and a few buddies were trying to get one of their moms to buy alcohol for us. We gathered up the funds for a handle and gave her the money, then mingled toward the exit as, we assumed, she would head toward the register. Instead, she jogged ahead of us and just walked out the door, setting off the alarm, and just kept going. A cashier saw her and yelled out, then asked us if we noticed her with any merchandise, at which point we of course shrugged our shoulders and the cashier thought "gently caress it" and gave up. We spent about another ten minutes in the parking lot trying to get our goddamn money back if she just planned to steal it from the start, but no one came out or anything. That we weren't caught can only be explained by understaffing and intense apathy.

Volume posted:I'm gonna need more info on this Walmart has a system for raises. It's based on your evaluation and the raises aren't very good. There is a base pay rate and then it goes up every year unless you get a lovely review (take a wild guess how often managers deliberately give people terrible reviews to not give them raises). However there is a hard maximum on how much you can earn hourly. It goes up by the position's level of course but low levels cap at like $14 or $16 an hour or so. Last I heard none of these things are adjusted for inflation and Walmart actively avoids keeping people that they have to actually pay that much.

For the most part my local Walmart doesn't seem too bad for staffing, or at least they're keeping registers well-staffed - but I have had similar headaches at the electronics section, the annoyance is amplified because they have 3rd party dudes selling cellphone plans that can't help me because they aren't actually walmart employees. I get that, but one time there was loving three of these guys yucking it up and not a single actual Walmart employee to be found.

But drat dude, if you gently caress up too much too fast people will just stop listening! The best part of Trump's current ego trip is that it is actually costing him. Trump has no intention of becoming president and is basically just doing this for the publicity he constantly craves, but his own little ego boost is causing such great backlash that it is pretty much glorious.

Trump the successful billionaire is a fictional character that exists only on paper, and Donald J. Trump the human being has spent decades trying to convince everybody that he's real. He's like the anti-freeman on the land.

Someone on here said that he's a terrible businessman, but an amazing marketer, and he's been marketing himself successfully for decades. I'm not sure what the hell he's doing now, unless he is very, very cynical about what the people of the US want from a candidate.

I've been saying that for a while and I think either his ego consumed his entire brain and took over or he figures since he's old and already a billionaire he might as well take one last stab at something really huge. I.e, the presidency. I think he either just decided he deserves it or set his sights on the one thing he doesn't have. And really the only thing he has that makes him rich is his brand. That's it. People will pay extra just because the thing says "Trump" on it. He's a lovely businessman because he managed to bankrupt a casino. That should be practically impossible unless you're actively trying to bankrupt it.

Trump will fade away feeling like he accomplished what he set out to do. At least he doesn't have an NBC show anymore, nor a Ms. World by the looks of it. Also, Donald Trump pinatas are brilliant moves in marketing.

http://www.sportingnews.com/mlb/sto...ll-hall-of-fame Former MLB pitcher Randy Johnson is being inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame. He pitched for the Arizona Diamondbacks when they won the World Series. The Diamondbacks organization is really excited about this upcoming Hall of Fame induction, and came up with the idea to temporarily rename State Route 51 in Phoenix after Randy Johnson (who wore 51 on his jersey when he played). Problem is, State Route 51 is already permanently named for Lori Piestewa, a Hopi Indian Arizona soldier who was KIA in Iraq in 2003 (the first Native American US Military servicewoman killed in combat in US history). After more than a few people said WTF, the organization and governor have backed out and apologized.

The short end of it is that when another casino comes to town it doesn't really generate any new revenue, it just takes the money that's already being spent at other casinos and spreads it around. Trump decided spend a needlessly high amount of money to build his stuff in Atlantic City, an area that's inundated with casinos, so it didn't go too well for him.

So, the TL:DR version is that none of the stuff that people look for sales on at amazon like electronics or media or toys were actually part of the sale or were insulting (I heard one person complain that Final Fantasy Type-0, the newest in the franchise had a whopping five cents off for today) but even the high sales for dumb things like sharpie pens or whatever sold out in seconds.

Sounds like it went off like clockwork - they clear the older poo poo out of all their warehouses, make a buck off idiots jumping on five cent discounts, and get to test their infrastructure with a fast-moving mega order. It still amazes me that people think sales are for the customers.
