I've not seen Kingsman myself, but have heard there's quite a bit changed from the comic. He definitely toned Kick rear end way down, though.

Point is, both movies are R-rated as hell (regardless of how much Millar bullshit they kept or removed or added) and based on comic books and did fine. Kick rear end even works within the framework of superheroes.

If your argument's that nothing's been as good as Jackie Brown, I'd be listening. But they're all still good films. Even Death Proof.

I agree but it seems like the internet as a whole flip-flops from thinking he's a genius to thinking he's a hack every other week so discussing him gets really tedious after a while.

There better be a scene in the movie where the king just sits around poking a peasant with a stick as the peasant gets more and more upset and says more and more ridiculous things.

The script had an entire scene that was just one Leeroy Jenkins joke, I wouldn't put anything past them.

It's great because this is way less ridiculous than the average female superhero costume but since it's guys being the ones sexualized people are still sore about it 20 years later :yum:

Oh man, I loved this movie when I was a kid. It was the perfect cheesy lazy sunday-afternoon movie. Gotta love that Troy Doug McClure. I think the perfect lazy sunday afternoon movie pair was Warlords of Atlantis and Jaws 3.

I can always picture the proto-CG theatre curtain fade on, the announcer go "Welcome to todays Afternoon Matinee. Today we have... Warlords of Atlantis.", and then Huey Lewis' Back In Time kicked in.

To be honest, I still haven't got around to seeing it. (And probably was thinking of Italian cheese-fest RAIDERS OF ATLANTIS when I posted it.) I might just have to watch it this week.

Saturn 3 is a horrible piece of poo poo but has some interesting design in it, and I think some Carlo Rambaldi work. He was the man for robotic stuff back in the day. McClintock! is sort of stiff in that old-timey way but is worth it to see Maureen O'Hara constantly busting John Wayne's balls.
