Can confirm the Archer is cool. Dropping a max playing peekaboo while taking small arms fire is fun. As is volley firing at esfs and alternating between the archer and AV turret.

This is weird because the Gauss Rifle Burst's FSRM is actually something like 2.5, not 1

Yes. They gave it an absolute poo poo range by design. You literally had to be within stomping range to see people with thermals, but 350 meter range on ESF thermals is balanced because reasons.

If you'd ever used Thermals in the Valk before this change you'd know it was basically a button you used to completely blind yourself.

That might be preferable to having to use the frustratingly piss weak Valkyrie guns.

They should just remove thermals from any of them primary weapons on vehicles.

If you want to easy mode farm infantry at least get a gunner.

It's not unusual for parts of patch notes for Live to be written from the perspective of Test, because they can't be bothered to keep track of what they're pushing when. I'm guessing that at some point on Test the FSRM was 1, and they decided to make it 0.5 for the final release.

T1B also ridiculously good. Will try the VS ones when the novelty of having a gun that's actually way more accurate than their goddamn HA swarms has (especially while ADADAD spamming) wears off


edit - hipfire bug still feels unfixed, still extremely good despite what the reticle says

edit 2 - VS burst variants feel exactly as accurate as TR ones except they've got 12 fewer rounds in the mag and don't really reload faster lmao thanks DBG

Burst hipfire bug still seems in place - just hipfire iced 2 HAs who jumped me with Gauss Rifle Burst headshots at ~5m, definitely felt like it did before. Need more people testing this

Yeah, basically it operates independently of whatever the reticle says and ALWAYS starts dead center. It will still bloom like normal afterwards but it resets so quickly it's tough to notice.

It's tough to confirm beyond the fact that burst variants feel WAAAAYYYY better at hipfire than their stats and reticle would lead you to believe, but now with more people using them maybe I'll get more people testing it out to just tell me if I'm crazy or not.

For what it's worth, I ended up aurxing the Gauss Rifle Burst as a hipfire hero because it was just terrible at everything else
