As long as macho culture exists then no it isn't going to go away. This is especially true when people can find it socially acceptable to just go "lol stupid sissy liberals" and discount it as jealous whining. See, having the head of a dangerous animal on your wall is manly because you killed a dangerous animal! Never mind that you did it with a piece of equipment that the animal doesn't even understand. From a distance. In a place where you paid to have a trophy animal literally handed to you. Trophy hunting is really idiotic right now because it's basically just rich pricks that want to stoke their own egos paying to have their trophy just handed to them.

I'm amazed at Tinsley's continued inability to understand that he's the rear end in a top hat in this scenario. You give her $3, let her punch some numbers on a keypad, and give you three pennies. The only reason you would give extra pennies is if you want to feel smug when the cashier is confused at receiving such an unusual amount of money.

I think it's pretty simple: in 2014, Republican and Tea Party candidates promised the voters everything they ever wanted from the GOP: fight Obamacare, Immigration, everything. And they won! So, obviously, it can't be that their relentlessly antagonistic, crowd-pleasing tactics simply don't work for a deliberative body--it's the goddamn RINOs gleefully supporting Obama's every move! Lee and Cruz's recent efforts to defund Planned Parenthood failed to gain any traction because they are antagonistic assholes, but Branco and the base would much rather blame everyone else than admit they've got the wrong ideas on governing.

Have you never had a cashier ask if you have exact change so they don't have to give away all their sweet pennies? According to one of my lecturers at uni, "Death to X" is more or less how the Middle East phrases what, in most English-speaking countries, would be "gently caress X." People in the west read "Death to X" and they see it as this giant proclamation of how X must die. In context, that makes about as much sense as reading "gently caress X" and thinking 'why does that guy want to have sex with X?'

There's a lot of speculation that Harper will start our official election campaign super early, as early even as this weekend. The reason for this is that the longer the election campaign officially is, the higher the limits are on election spending. The Conservatives have way more money than the other parties, so the longer the campaign, the more likely their enormous war chest will play a decisive role. Starting the campaign also puts strict limits on third party spending so those dastardly unions won't advertise against the Conservatives. If you're American and confused by concepts like limits on third party advertising and campaign spending limits that politicians literally go to jail for violating, well, yeah we have those.

And that's as true for cashiers as it is customers. Sometimes it's great to get extra pennies and sometimes it's not. As many people have said, it's a really common thing to do with change - I'd rather be carrying 1 nickel than 5 pennies in my pocket. The lovely thing (surprise surprise) is that Tinsley is using it to make a "sick" "burn" on a fictional liberal arts strawperson.
