Trump is leading in the polls because he is a big fat loudmouth who says whatever insane thought comes to mind. He bucks traditional campaigning and prefers to insult the other candidates rather than making actual platforms and policies. Politicians by nature are sniveling and spineless, spending their entire careers being as vague and inoffensive as possible. As soon as he starts listening to seasoned campaigners, he will sink, which I don't think will be a problem because Trump takes orders from no man. Chris Christie has been flirting with this strategy for 6 years, Trump just turned it to 11. Honestly, at least for the primary I don't think he needs any campaign infrastructure because what he's doing now seems to be working like crazy. Stay the course good buddy!

Of course everyone with political strategist want him to label his causes. That's not the game Trump is playing, and it works; the average voter seems DELIGHTED with "I will get a better trade deal" as a campaign plank.

And he never EVER seems to say how (though that's relatively typical), but it'll be interesting to see what'll happen when he goes into a situation where someone asks him hard questions and wants actual answers. Of course, Trump's probably shrewd enough to not get in a situation like that in the first place.

Trump is the front runner because people are tired of mathematically derived, focus group, triangulation wishy-washy nonsense. It's the same reason Bernie's gaining steam, and quickly. In many ways, Trump is like the Bizarro Bernie. It's similar (no relying on big-money donors, unvarnished rhetoric, widely mocked for their hair) and yet totally different (independent Billionaire vs. 'man of the people', raw racism vs. raw socialism, and desperately clinging to youth vs. lovable old grandpa who doesn't care much about what hair he has left). There is this desperate desire to cast this election in the same vein as something from the 90's, which is why the mainstream media keeps getting surprised by these candidates so far outside of the establishment. There are reports that Ailes actually supports trump, which isn't shocking, he makes for pretty good television. However, Bernie support continues to consternate establishment dems. Social and alternate media are here to stay, and since so many people are working a million hours just to get by, chances are the only news they're reading is the 'news feed' from facebook. In the social media sphere, Trump and Bernie are kings, and no one else can even touch them, because people actually have to be enthusiastic about something for it to go viral. "I am less bad than everyone else" is a tactic that may have worked in the past, but it lacks the punch for the social media sphere. Hillary's support is going to melt again as democrats finally insist on having a liberal candidate, and Trump is going to flabbergast everyone when he stomps ROYAL rear end IN THE FOX NEWS DEBATE SUMMER SLAM OHHHHHH YEAHHHHH

Biden's son Beau died recently. Of brain cancer, no less. Personally, I don't think he'll run. He's already done plenty in politics--it's not easy to become or be VP, even if you're Diamond Joe--and the guy's had a tough life. I can see him retiring from politics altogether soon. I assume Joe didn't just magically decide this was the right time to consider entering over the wishes of his Dead Gay Son. This article says two major Biden supporters who moved into State after Clinton left have donated the maximum to her, and that suggests Biden won't run, but maybe not, because they don't know anything, really. http://www.vox.com/2015/7/31/9078755/biden-allies-give-to-clinton Joe's not been to Iowa or NH, hasn't fundraised, hasn't set up offices, has just sort of sat and hurt. That's a big hole to dig out of. Also, he's the incumbent veep, and that usually works against a candidate. I doubt he'll run, but he may want some sort of vindication first.
