I'm actually really digging the new Maiden song. It has this nice no-frills rock sound to it the band hasn't had for quite a while. Here's hoping the album will have more of that instead of just meandering 9-minute epics after another. It's true that Bruce is sounding a bit strained, but gently caress it he's still good enough. All in all, pretty stoked for the new album!

I came to post the song, but clearly I'm too late. I didn't dig it so much at first, and then it grew on me. Then again, I'm a huge Iron Maiden fan so I think I'm biased towards liking it no matter what. The intro did surprise me, since it sounded completely different from what I expect from Iron Maiden. The video was indeed awesome. At first I thought "ugh... pixel art" and then how it evolved through different video game eras was amazing.

I love all the little nods to different album covers of theirs, it's a nice touch.

But late to the "Speed of Light" hype train, but whatever. The song itself was a good, solid slab of NWOBHM. I liked it, even if it's a bit different than pretty much every Iron Maiden album since Powerslave. I actually love the albums chocked full of 9-minute long rockers (especially Brave New World and Somewhere in Time), but I still enjoyed this song. The video was also odd, but in the best way possible. Sort of the video game equivalent of RHCP's "Dani California" music video. I didn't expect the song to fit with the video, but it did really well. Overall, great song, great video, great way to hype Book of Souls.

The new Ghost album is really good, sorry detractors. Adding my praise for the new Cattle Decapitation, last time I fell in love with an album this fast was Archspire. Amazing right off the bat. Also requesting a video that was posted XX pages ago which was the most dadmetal thing ever. Think his name was Chris something and the video was just him walking around looking fat and middle aged, flipping the horns and just not giving a gently caress about how awkward it all was. I need to inflict it on a friend.
