They should have just used verbal judo to get the guy to de-escalate himself off of the officer and to put himself in the handcuffs that would be laid at his feet by a civilian oversight board.

We had a guy who would relentlessly ticket the Jimmy Johns drivers on campus. Not while doing deliveries, though. Their shop was right across the street from the law college, and had maybe 3 metered spaces in front of it with no parking lot, so the drivers would park in the handicapped stalls and the fire line in front of the law college. The manager got cited for DC for coming out and punching the hood of one of the cruisers while bitching him out for ticketing his drivers.

I had one of these in an interview once, but she was acting as an appropriate adult for a kid who had trespassed on the railway and abused staff. She went on an anti-police tirade and made this giant speech in the interview. I suspended it, kicked her out and replaced her with somebody else. I don't think she's allowed to be an appropriate adult anymore (Appropriate adults are there to make sure young persons, persons with learning difficulties or a mental disability understand what is being asked and said during the custody process. They're not there to make speeches during a police interview.) Hezzy fucked around with this message at 14:50 on Aug 19, 2015 |

Anyone know of a GPS type device that can be used to track officer movements. After this field search training my department wants to get something where an officer can wear a gps tracker and can be monitored by the command group somewhere else.

I actually never understood the fear of someone tracking cops in an effort to kill them. I can stand on the street corner and not wait 10 minutes for a cop car to pass on that road. Finding a cop to kill in a city is not very hard.

Officer level, probably. Depending on your radio system they might sell GPS mic units.
