Huh? The mazda6 wagon is just a fusion wagon and those are pretty solid driverrain wise.

But its not and the fusion is a rolling piece of garbage in ford or mercury form. Plenty of timing chain issues on the mercury version. That was the number one car that would get traded for new subarus, at my once Lincoln mercury now Mazda Subaru dealer. They are poo poo if there a mazda ford or mercury. And the Mazda wagons HAD HORRIBLE RUST ISSUES. I'm in the rust belt so it scews my view but up until they changed the body again in like 09 or 10 mazda still had horrendous rust problems and evap problems thanks to spiders and retarded dealer techs who couldn't perform the recalls right.

Mazda has hosed up so hard with rust in the rust belt. Subaru too. You'll see the occasional 5 year old one with rust starting, and pretty much every 10+ old one will have major rust holes. Just unexcusable, when all my toyota cars have gone 15-20 years with minimal rust while driving in the same conditions.

You can literally hear someone has a mazda 3 for example, and you just instinctively know it's rusted up.

Nice deal. The brembos I had on my V1 were common on a bunch of cars (evo, 350z, etc) and were loving nuts. With SS lines and HP+ pads it would nearly break my neck just sneezing on the the pedal. I had to go back to stock pads because it was too aggressive for street driving. :allears:

How big are those?

I have the J55 brakes (f-13.6" r-13.4") on my 2010 wagon and parts guy was like are these rotors for a van? I said no a station wagon.

Still find it amusing that a CTS4 tops the scales at 4300+ pounds.

I'll keep that in mind! It is such a great car and none of the newer cars I have tried have anything like the combo of practicality and fun.

It was the most fun a couple days ago when we got our first rain in ages so the streets were a little greasy. Just enough power to break the rear out a bit but not enough to get in any trouble (ESC off of course)

Nice, this is what I want if anything ever happens to my Subaru. Is it the 3.3? My mom had a 1990 sedan with that engine and it ran forever with minimal care. The only reason she got rid of it is because it got stolen and the people that took it smoked crack in it, broke the front seat so that it would recline and put big speakers on the rear deck. She cried when she saw it since she had it for like 10 years and my sister and I grew up with that car.

It is! I'm still not sure what I'm doing with it, but I couldn't pass it up for $200. It's rough, as you can see in the thread I linked, but it should be serviceable.

I am also, unfortunately, familiar with the ease in which these cars are stolen. I have a '96 Century wagon that got stolen from my driveway with literally a screwdriver.

Yea we were wondering why they stole her car cause it was so old and a Buick but the cops said the same thing about how easy they are to steal. I loved that engine, it has 160hp and it was faster than the 1990 Z24 3.1 I had at the time which was 130 or 140hp or something like that.

Most of the cars stolen are older cars now because they are way easier to steal than modern cars.
Most of my clients seemed to have been arrested in 90s hondas for a reason.
Older cars also have better market for used parts as owners of new cars tend to buy new parts/have warranties.

Often you can jack an old gm just by having some other old gm key. The ignition lock cylinder gets so worn any gm key will start 'em.

Wouldn't be surprised if it was the same for hondas.

Buddy of mine once hijacked my Shiro with a screwdriver. He only knew about it because we were bombing around on some back roads a few nights earlier and my keys flew out of the ignition going around a hard left.

There's a local guy that's always parking his lovely truck where I work when he knows he's not supposed to. One day I saw him put his keys inside the fuel door after he got out of it. I drove his truck across the street behind a gas station and hilarity ensued when he was trying to find it at 2am.

A friend in high school had a Celebrity wagon (with wood grain trim!) that you could start without any key at all just by turning the cylinder. We used to stop by his work and move it all the time because the door locks didn't work either.

I have a habit of storing my keys there when I'm at the local beaches. Mostly because shithead kids out of school for the summer were going into people's bags while they were out swimming, grabbing their keys and stealing anything not nailed down in the cars.
