Now taking donations for the Toblerone Zep Senpai sympathy FundHate-Senpai posted:Anyways my point is that I have terribad luck at gacha games, didn't even get a SSR in CG SS from today's pull. This here's a thread where we play one or more rhythm games (sometimes idol-related but as per this forum always anime-related), which may be on mobile devices or dedicated gaming systems, and talk about the goings-on therein. There's a sort of focus on Love Live! School Idol Festival (primarily EN and JP servers, but if you play TW or KR, feel free to post about those too), The IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls: Starlight Stage, and Girl Friend (♪), but feel free to talk about other relevant games too. General Information (applicable to LLSIF, SS, ML:TD, and BD:GBP) In these games, you assemble a team of girls who may or may not be idols and use the team to play a song, which involves tapping circles/hearts onscreen to the rhythm of music from the respective franchises. Build your teams up and make them stronger in order to get higher scores! Aim for a full combo, but watch out - if you miss too many notes, you'll fail the song! You get new songs to play by progressing through little story segments, just having new special limited-time songs pop up, and/or through straight-up purchasing the songs. Unlock new story segments by raising your (Rank/(Producer) Level), and raise that by playing songs for experience! You can also use premium currencies to draw special cards to beef up your teams. See below for how core gameplay differs for each game. And please refer to the resources linked below in order to get a way better idea of gameplay and what (not) to do. Existing LLSIF thread on Games: School Idol Festival - Save your school with finger-tambourine DDR (Thanks Sidesaddle Cavalry for making me aware of this) In LLSIF, teams consist of nine idols. Song backgrounds are static and vary depending on song difficulty. Tapped circles are arranged in a semicircular manner, and notes appear from the top-center of the screen and travel in straight lines to their corresponding tap circles. There are three main types of notes: single taps, double taps (indicated with a bar on the consecutive note circles), and hold notes (which must be released at the end, unlike how in, say, DDR, you can come back to a freeze arrow after stepping off of it for a split-second). Songs have three attribute categories: Smile (Pink), Pure (Green), and Cool (Blue). Cards come in these attributes as well, and it is beneficial to create teams of a single attribute in order to get a bonus for each circle tapped when the song attribute matches the attribute of the card you tap. In CGSS, teams consist of five idols. While playing songs, you have a choice of backgrounds: 3D models of your idols dancing in the background or chibi 2D versions onstage. The tapped circles are arranged in a straight line; notes are... not really consistent in how they appear. Most of the time, they follow some sort of arc straight down to the tap circles, but sometimes they originate from where another note would appear. It's a little odd, coming from a LLSIF player. Notes come in the same varieties as in LLSIF, but some holds will also require you to swipe in a direction at the end, and there are some note chains where you just swipe in one direction. Songs have three attribute categories as well: Cute (Pink), Cool (Blue), and Passion (Orange). Some songs do, however, appear to match to all three? And I believe that, according to at least one of the links below, song score is affected by other different stats per card. I can't explain the mechanics that well for myself (as of this writing, the game only came out yesterday, and the translations/guides that exist are super helpful), so please refer to the links below for help. (todo: add ML:TD here) BanG Dream! Girls Band Party! BanG Dream is a rhythm game where you lose a lot if you play on expert. But it's cool you can play until your battery dies there's no stamina or whatever. Also the girls will spend an awful lot of time talking to each other while playing. Even the vocalist. Unless you mix and match, because they can only talk to members of their own band, it seems. Oh also it's kinda like guitar hero, only with your fingers, and the notes are traveling across the fretboard. —ed Play as a staff member of the live house CiRCLE, the gokigen-est place for girl bands to come and perform music! Meet the girls of the five bands and warm up to their sounds and personality: Poppin' Party, Afterglow, Pastel*Palettes, Roselia, and Hello, Happy World! The notes travel top-to-bottom and the tap area is pretty generous. There are seven note zones in a line at the bottom, and you'll have regular taps, hold-and-release, hold-and-release but sliding across columns, and flicks (which are indicated with up arrows, but can be flicked in any direction). There's four type categories cards can fall into: Powerful, Cool, Pure, and Happy. This makes a difference when a type is boosted in events to get you more event points. It's recommended to just always be playing on the multiplayer mode, saving single-player for when you run out of flames. English version coming 2018! LLSIF: Should be listed on the App Store/Google Play Store as "SchoolIdolFestival". CGSS: Android: requires a little legwork to get. It's region-locked (I believe) but I found a tip: use this "QooApp" application to download the game. Starlight Stage has released, I recently started playing Project Diva, and I still have both EN and JP School Idol Festival accounts. I'd say I'm descending into idol rhythm game hell, but I've been playing SIF for over a year. I'm already there. I've made hell comfy, and host parties.

Thursday morning a friend of mine was telling me about her (third by my count) dream that involved Love Live stuff. Says I to her, "Sometimes I wonder which of us is deeper in idol hell." I'm the one who got her into Love Live and the game but she's the one dreaming about it. Then a few hours later Starlight Stage came out and I remembered that I was the one deeper in hell. I keep telling myself I'm in it for the rhythm gameplay. At least for Starlight Stage, that's more true since I have basically zero grip of Japanese.

Hi, my name is Moldy Taxes, and I'm an Idol Music Game addict. Been on SIF EN for about a year now, and I'm rank 174. I enjoy the franchise enough that I'm still heavily considering buying a ticket to the movie screening next weekend. Picked up SS when it dropped, but I know absolutely nothing about IM@S except that shorthand and that a buddy of mine's really into one of the girls. Music's good, but aside from saving up premium currency for a ten draw and leveling up I have no idea what's going on with the game. I'd definitely pick up an English version if there was one, though. Games are good, fellas.

I already have tickets to see LLTSIM next weekend, both Saturday and Sunday, each in a different city (neither of which is mine). There are no showings in my town, so I bought a ticket for Sunday. Then an Internet friend expressed interest in seeing it with me on Saturday. I've yet to decide if I want to drive an hour or two to see a teenage pop star cartoon twice in one weekend. I suppose I'll have a better idea after the first showing. I think I heard something about goodies? So that might influence my decision, too, I can be a sucker for anime merch.

I would've gone to see the Love Live movie in Boston, but the friend I would've watched with, her family decided they'd start vacation next Saturday. I could drive to Virginia to see it myself but nah. On the English server for LLSIF, I've been playing since about the end of February. My handle is Zio and friend code is 272910675. Send me a message if you add me because I think my list is full but I can get rid of a rando for a goon. My center is a Smile UR Honoka - somehow she seems to bless me more than any other girl. As for Starlight Stage, my producer id thing is 373085876.

I just pulled two of new SR Makis from the last update, so I'll be rocking that as my center for Score Matches and Medley Festivals down the road, while I swap in an appropriate UR for token events. I've got a few slots open right now, but shoot me a message beforehand so I know where you're from. My PID for SS is 498569951. Not too much else to say here other than that I'm pretty active in the game.

I played LLSIF for a month or so with a custom-made arcade style controller. If anyone is interested I'm actually selling both as I can't stand mobage pay models and forced timers (I have played and extensively enjoyed the iM@S series on console but it's a different thing entirely).

Depends on how many Star Jewels you can accrue, probably through song rewards, since you're aiming for 2500 for the 10-draw if I'm not mistaken. I think you can get 750 or something from this one login bit - it's either a new player bonus or a launch bonus, I can't read so I can't tell. You'll get some amount from regular daily login bonuses, and there may or may not be some from 'assignments' that you can complete too (and completing all nine assignments of a set unlocks a new song - there are three boards right now). I think I'm close, but that's also because a couple months back when it was announced, I went and signed up on the Japanese Bandai Namco site to preregister for the game (a 1000 Star Jewel bonus).

I'm only halfway there to the 10-card draw for CGSS. If you didn't know, when you level up an idol to their next stage, you get a new Communication. Completing the first communication nets you Friend Points. While completing the second communication gets you Star Bits (or whatever they are). On my Rare level Koume, I got 50 Star Bits. For the Normal cards, I only get 25. Still, it's an easy way to get more Star Bits.
