The Danish F-16s hang out in Estonia most of the time, don't they? I remember in the somewhat recent kerfuffle when Russia sent some Backfires to say hello to Sweden (and the Swedish Air Force failed to intercept them because everyone was on vacation) that they were escorted the entire way by Danish F-16s.

Does the crudeness of early MiGs make it more or less likely that people will keep them airworthy? In other words, since people were just figuring out jets back when they were made, is repairing one of these things today like playing with Duplo blocks instead of Legos, or do they need tons of finicky custom parts?

The thing you need to remember about old MiGs like the -15 and -17 is that they made and widely exported ENORMOUS numbers of them, and even more enormous numbers of spare parts. Much like how there are hundreds of absolutely brand-new WWII aircraft engines still in warehouses all over the world, there are likely similar repositories of MiG parts as well.

Fair enough, never quite figured out who, but at least one of our female soldiers couldn't stop clogging up the pipes with tippons nearly every loving month. Good thing that didn't make the whole site smell like piss and poo poo. About the time we got that to stop was when our landlord told us to stop using toilet paper and flushing it into his septic system and instead to just wipe our asses with paper and then put the poo poo-paper into plastic trash cans so we wouldn't clog the pipes in his condos furnished with marble-top counters and polished slate floors and 7+ swimming pools  e: we totally measured out how many meters from each piece of equipment is required for MO&E based on the TC and then raked accordingly.

If you haven't yet, read Red Eagles. They kinda talk about some of that in passing with the maintenance crews (and this was the 60s-80s? I think).
