Rewatching Tiny Rick. I love Morty being a smug dick about vampires at the beginning.

Also check out the interface to Jerry's Tablet. I know it's probably just simplified icons but being Windows 8/Metro guy is such a jerry move

Remember in the meeseeks episode where at the end the restaurant manager told jerry "oh, you aren't going anywhere - the fbi is coming and they have a lot of questions"? I remember thinking "oh poo poo, rick is gonna have to walk a tight rope here" but nah it didn't happen and it probably would have been boring for that to happen.

Restaurant people: "Help, police! An army of weird blue aliens rushed in here and took people hostage and were talking to these people for a long time!"

Beth and Jerry: "What? Officer, these people are obviously crazy, and we feel threatened. May we leave?"

Cause, you know, an army of weird blue aliens?

It's a long story
They kind of go back and forth on it. The president acted like they were doing a cover up last episode, even though the entire world saw everything. But we're back to normal next week. Everyone just got over the giant head thing.

I think that the animation quality has been better and better. The art team has more material for background shots. The characters move smoother (with a balance of awkward animation comedy movement). Eg, I didn't notice it until this still but Summer's pose is done well enough that the pose and facial expression convey a lot.

Loving this show more every week.

I'm actually very proud of that drawing of rick on notebook paper, Was the funniest prop of the episode.

So, dumbass here fell asleep during the episode. Apparently it's locked on AdultSwim.com, and they don't take my Time Warner Cable credentials because of course they don't.

That needs to die. The last grasp of cable companies to try to monopolize their bullshit.

At least I honestly think the death of this is coming faster than expected after the stock market back lashed over cable.

Now I'm also considering the Scott Pilgrim reference shirt.

Are you sure that's the interface? It kinda looks like that balloon-popping game he's always playing.

Also, this is not me saying that the episode was bad, but it felt short for some reason. Not sure why.

Probably because it never really lingered at any location or scene for very long. The A plot kept moving from school to house and back whereas Rick and Morty typically at least hangout in a single location for a good majority of the episode. The B plot also didn't have any sitting around like the characters usually do, it started with Jerry and Beth going somewhere and proceeded to ramp right up into action without stopping. Basically, the episode was faster paced than usual.

So do you get royalties for shirts sold that use your designs? Or are they all owned by Adult Swim and merchandising is just a part of your normal contract?

I like that Jerry and Beth got a space adventure while Rick and Morty and Summer had a relatively mundane Earth adventure it was a nice change up.

I would have made it a MS device, but it was designed before me. i think they are just blotches to represent various jerry apps. I usually take my time on interface stuff to make them a caricature of the real thing.

probably not seeing as how i didn't come up with any of these ideas/layouts. It is just a design that just happens to feature my art work. I do actually want to submit a t shirt Idea to the studio though. I just haven't had time yet.

I've been rewatching the series, and I've noticed that while Jerry is a colossal fuckup wimp, he does show the ability to do what needs to be done. When it really matters, he hasn't failed - he just bucks up and does the job perfectly.

I wonder if that's why Morty is so capable despite his insecurity.

"Because... we're Jerrys." is the best summary of his character. And Morty is definitely already way more spine-filled than his dad.

Sure, but so is Beth. It seems like Morty got Beth's general competence and Jerry's ability to ignore the difficulty and do the thing when necessary. Between that and the general science/adventure knowledge he's picking up, he's going to be another Rick. I wonder if Rick's grandfather (or whoever his teacher was) also yelled "OH YEAH! RICK AND <rick's mentor>! ONE HUNDRED YEARS!" while Rick was dazed on the ground with very little brain function and the lights were flickering.

While Morty might become a decent space adventurer one day I doubt he will be the inventor Rick is.
