it's still pretty hilarious that of the 'good' players seriously pushing for this, only sba can regularly crack a PPG (at 1.5/pg which is nothing more than slightly above mediocre for try-harding), game log shows those people constantly turning over the puck as many as 30 times a game, and none can get a positive +/-.

And that's with those people pulling the clique bullshit of either only playing with each other, or jumping to xbox. I'm amazed, dropping everyone and going to xbox didn't lead to an undefeated season and 3ppg for all!

it's like being kind of the retards in the ECHL!

fwiw, I had a great time playing with the not-try-hard group back in NHL14. Sure we only had like a 50% win rate but a lot of that was because we were trying to embarrass the other team by doing goofy poo poo like the flying v and having it backfire.

Yeah, that was me (sarcastically) saying that as well. It's just annoying to be ready to play, see 4 players on, sit around watching them play so I can join in, and then they get their asses kicked and all decide to quit, leaving me spending almost 2 hours trying to get a game going and just having to play ultra-lovely drop-in instead.

17 players (oops 16, rip) seems like a lot but when there's only 1 person up for playing from 7:30-9:30 PM Pacific maybe there's some room :iiam:

This is the logic that leads to 8-9 people being online at a time. It sucks that some nights there are not enough folks for a game (or they are bad (they are all bad) and quit out when they get badly beaten bad) but it's better and easier than trying some middle management seniority bullshit when things are too full. You want to pay me to be a middle manager then I will do that poo poo, until then no.

Actually come to think of that, you can be dev, I'll be middle manager for RGRCorp. We're half-way to a real company already.

Yeah, yeah, I get it, nobody wants to be the one that has to tell people to sit out. Just needed to vent.

Also if EA could make a drop-in mode that allowed me to only be placed into games WITH NO HUMAN GOALIES that would be great tia

All joking aside i play bone more than ps4 mostly because my tv doesnt have enough hdmi ports to have both plugged in and bone runs my tv so it has to be plugged in at all times i'm not specifically using ps4. Putting in a remote hdmi switch and programming that is another point of failure and increases the odds of the tv not working when i'm out of the house.

i should do better playing ps4 when ps4 bros are waiting

So there was a big update for ps4 today, and they added some cool features like groups in your friends list and communities you can create/join. I created a ps4 group for NHL 16.

It's called "NHL16 Goon Group" just search for it on ps4 and send a request or something like that.

Also, my PSN name is Alcapwn89 so feel free to send friend requests to me now that I can separate goons from my REAL LIFE FRIENDS in the friends list.

That's like the single best team game of hockey we've played in years and it's loving decided by input lag and ice tilt. Un-loving-believable.

And for once our shots weren't padded out by wingers dumping it on net from the blueline on the rush.

Yeah sorry about last night (if you didn't see IRC) btw - comcast decided I didn't want to have internet for a good hour+ - Also I normally get home / start playing around 9-9:30p Pacific so if there's still people up playing I'm always down.

I watched a little over ½ of that game (saw the 1st and 3rd goals) and it was absurd how well you guys were slinging the puck around yet their CPU goalie just stopped everything. Then those other dudes cobble together 8 shots and three of them go in :wtf::wtf: - okay so one turnover and one play where three RGR guys can't poke or lift the puck away from a guy who goes from their blueline to your goalie and he lets them in - yet the computer decides you aren't allowed to score from pretty much any angle? Nope no ice tilt there.

Well after all my bitching last night, got in 4 games tonight with the RGR crew, netted 3G 6A and +7, team went 3-1 and we really should've won that first one based on flow of play. For whatever reason (region matching settings maybe?) I had way less lag tonight and as a result was able to actually contribute. Lots of fun, thanks guys :unsmith:

I played a couple games last night after not touching it for a week, and I have to say the tuners have made a huge improvement. I'm not sure if it's just me, but the game felt a bit slower overall and I was setting up in the attacking zone with some regularity and not just shooting off the rush all the time. I guess I missed the 'pokecheck automatically means a penalty' setting they had for a bit, because I managed to have zero powerplays either way in two games which was the only drawback. Still, it felt much more controlled than it did when I first bought it.

I really felt punished for making mistakes for the first time I can remember too. I decided to pinch down from the point while behind in a game and the puck was chipped past me and the AI scored off a well executed 2 on 1. It felt like a really realistic goal and I actually went back and watched the replay of the computer scoring on me I was so impressed.

So do you not get the win in HUT online divisions when someone rage quits? Kind of annoying that someone can waste my time in a winning game and make me play another to advance.

-edit- Never mind, had to exit HUT and then go back in for it to show. Awesome job EA, appreciate this wonderful interface.

Yep. The HUT interface has gone even more bonkers in the past week. Sometimes a card will be in your inbox, and if you try to do anything with it - send to collection, auction - you'll get the "failed to retrieve data" error and it will kick you out. Restarting the system can occasionally fix it.

I gave up trying to do much anything in the Auction house because of the poor UI. They have managed to make HUT the most bland experience you can have. How about some goals in the offline games to make them more interesting? Scoring a hat trick or having a shutout gives 100 more pucks. Stuff like that. I guess that would make buying packs little more less appealing so no way nothing interesting is ever going to happen to that mode.

Yeah, this happened to me with an Alex Tanguay card. Didn't stop after I reset, but it quick sold for more than I paid for it so I didn't mind so much.

Boy is it garbage how you never score when someone calls for the puck from the goalie. Just slides through 3 sets of sticks and legs to them and off they go. If you do somehow manage to touch the puck at all, the goalie just desperation saves across and stops it every time.
