I leave this thread alone for one weekend and we get a good episode, big audio news, and now cool Lego pictures. Meanwhile, the TARDIS wasn't in the American Werewolf in London house at Halloween Horror Nights this year. Now I'm depressed.

And here's me thinking you'd all be talking about The Claws of Axos. Well if you want to SHOVE IT, I'm watching Arc of Infinity now. Or possibly a 1980's gay porn film, it's hard to tell initially

I thought that it was pretty stellar for the time. And I love how randomly the Master is just there.

I do agree with you going forward, though, cuz the meat and potatoes of the Last Great Time War is undepictable in the linear time we live in.

The idea that the final days of Time War was just the last survivors fighting in the mud is a novel one, it's just that it was portrayed like Star Wars and had a Looney toons ending. And I'm still not entirely convinced that idea wasn't thought up because Moffat couldn't come up with anything more imaginative. I really would've prefered he left well alone.

I remember when I discovered all the old episodes on Dailymotion I decided to sit through Arc of Infinity for some reason (I think I must've had an exam coming up) and felt compelled to come on here and complain about what an utterly terrible piece of television it is. I think having the new series reaching out to a non-captive audience helps to highlight just what a wretched work it is, insulated for years by fan isolationism (no this doesn't apply to the Deadly Assassin because it just doesn't ok).

remember when tennant did something sonic to a pair of 3D specs? was amusing as a one note joke, but I think making these shades an ongoing thing is a bit tedious. and it's a bit weird them being such an obvious identifiable brand. if the BBC did product placement you'd be rolling your eyes at how it's a bit much. tennant wore converse but they didnt' shove it in the audience's face so.

Well that style of sunglasses has pretty much become one of the "generic sunglass" styles (along with aviators) - walk into any shop that sells sunglasses (in the UK at least) and there will be 3 or 4 different Wayfarer style knockoffs in the racks. Same with Converse really - that style of shoe has been popular for ages now and you can pickup shoes that look like them pretty much anywhere.
