I like how 3 years later the all new, everything has changed chassis has two lovely white plastic strips to allow signals through because sir jobby jabber Ives is a talentess hack of a retard who wont step back from a horrendous engineering decision because he was annointed by the queen, and the current monarch in the UK.

i liked when ms haltingly tried to make windows work on touchscreens and got halfway there and everyone hated the poo poo out of it. so now most software still isnt touch friendly and your OS has to be told to "adapt to touch input" and even then its still crap, and the touch keyboard has to be called up and put away manually, and the battery dies in 3 hours because it's a windows laptop

it seems like when Apple made iOS they decided to almost start over from scratch (actually they didn't and classes are still prefixed with "NS" because they date back to Next Step). but they had the opportunity to shed things like the desktop analogy, file hierarchy, etc. but that meant they had to reimagine basic things like cut and paste as well. microsoft decided this was too hard. maybe not too hard to do technically, as they did something like this with Windows Phone 7 and upward, reimagining the UI while keeping core windows components. but difficult in the sense that they would have to launch a new OS that competed with Windows. hard in that this new OS would have one license fee and price, while windows had another. one poor decision early on in a project can create lasting "technical debt" that mounts the longer the problem is not addressed. if deciding to shoehorn in mobile features from iOS and Android into a desktop OS for the sake of maintaining a lucrative licensing structure, then the bizarre designs of Microsoft's pseudo-tablets are what the technical debt looks like. admittedly the hinge on the new Surface Book is innovative, but it doesn't solve a problem related to laptop hinges, it tries to solve the problem of a desktop OS trying to be a mobile OS, which stems again not from the interests of enhancing human-machine interaction but from the board rooms.
