As a bonus, its probably radically cheaper to maintain, and more reliable, as well. :v:

Saw one of these being towed on a trailer last night as I left work. Sadly it didn't stop at the lights long enough for me to get a picture of it but it was the same colour, just with yellow stripes and wheels. And it was loving TINY. You could step over this thing if it was racing towards you.

Proper bumpers too. That's an awesome way to breathe new life into what would otherwise be a polished turd.

So, I've been writing useless suggestions for the next cars to be included in Gran Turismo (that Polyphony Digital can conveniently ignore all at once) on the GTPlanet forums, and the last one I wrote ended up being a pretty good article on the Fiat Mefistofele. Can you guys read it and tell me if it's accurate? and if you've never heard of the Mefistofele, read it, it's a really cool story of LSR cars in the inter-war period

The guy that built this also thinks carbs are better than EFI and also believes in hydrogen extracted from water powered cars. The filter is the least of the problems.

Maybe it's worth it on a land speed car where you're running WOT 100% of the time (minimizing the disadvantages of carbs) and the additional parasitic load of EFI is significant? Or maybe the guy is an idiot, but the Geo Metro land speed record isn't hotly contested?

It's probably more likely that whatever specific classification this car fits in requires carbs.

He is a really cool guy he just is an old curmudgeon. I just like to give him poo poo about hydrogen powered cars & EFI. I think for his application its no big deal, as he's doing what he knows how to do and actually measured the flow of the custom manifolds he built and it has a bunch of other interesting details. However, as IOC mentioned, it has to follow the rulebook exactly. I'm not 100% on what class he is running, I should really interview him and take some more pictures.

Thanks! I think we're getting better with our video stuff, so hoping this one will be even better than the Lambo review. And I just confirmed we're getting an FF (with CarPlay! ;)) at the beginning of December.

Also that first one is a still from this clip: http://iconosquare.com/viewer.php#/detail/1092324833264036304_30665665 (hope that works).

Are you getting the FF primarily to review CarPlay? Because that car's been out for ages as far as Internet Reviews are concerned.

Sounds immense but would sound better on the gear changes with a manual box. If such a thing existed.

That thing has to be loud as gently caress because it sounds like the mic is clipping.

for some people, all it boils down to is loud=good, louder=gooder (see: every Harley with aftermarket pipes). I dunno, maybe their ears are broken from too much loud or something.

Removing mufflers is incredibly obnoxious. Removing cats even more so. Get a more aggressive exhaust, sure. But it should focus on altering the tone than the loudness. If you want it to be loud with windows closed in your nicely soundproofed car, then you're just being a dick to everyone who's not in the car.

The low end sounds awesome, but it gets too sharp for my ears as it winds out. Pretty much like my old race car was, everyone always told me how awesome it sounded and I just thought it was terribly loud and ended up changing the exhaust at the cost of weight to quiet it down and lose the sharpness.
