elon musk is right and apple is just chasing everyone else with really bad products like the iwatch and huge phones. a bad car sounds perfect for them

Apple buying one of the most overvalued companies around would be dumb as hell also why do nerds have such a hardon for musk he's always struck me as a blowhard

i guess maybe apple corporate "culture" is different, but the employed people i know have enough crap to care about without getting emotionally involved in what the ceo of a tech company said

marco!! Arment is taking a bold step with pricing: Overcast 2.0 is a completely free app, with an optional patronage model to support Arment directly. The new plan in Overcast 2.0 is to let users decide whether they're willing to support the app by paying or not. To become a patron, you can go to Overcast's Settings > Support Overcast and choose one of the three subscription options: $2.99 for three months, $5.99 for six months, or $11.99 for a year. Arment is being extremely upfront in what Overcast's patronage gets you in addition to the app: nothing.

tesla literally went to lotus and said "build me a car". they then proceeded to make bad cars on a great drivetrain. I can't really fault them for that since they seem to be succeeding also I guess I'd throw $3 at Marco since I like overcast a lot. definitely wouldn't pay more though.

but what if its a loving amazing car and really innovative in the field of being a car and basically shames tesla in mileage and starts at like $33,900 or something half the fuckin cost of a tesla and also makes charging stations ubiquitious as lightning charge cables and big auto crumbles due to the market all going to car and car wins the nobel prize for transportation

cremnob posted:i still cant get over how perfect a gently caress up this is I hear from reliable sources inside tesla that they're experiencing massive retention issues and lost a whole lot of talent recently. this is elon lashing out to try to stem the tide by claiming the people leaving are failures. also lol if you think apple won't use the same contract manufacturer model to make cars as they do phones. foxconn can make the best phone in the world when managed right, why not the best car in the world. the fact that musk doesn't get this and thinks that investing in a factory stamping sheet metal and employing a bunch of blue collars is how he will disrupt the auto industry should be really scary to any tesla investors
