Played some Archeage while the forums were down. The skateboard is pretty fun, and you can get one free for 30 days with the "oh god please come back" tokens. Rolling through Hellswamp I noticed the the sound effect was really strange; it sounds like you're skating through a roller rink instead of a swamp. Then I realized that if I'm seriously considering the realism of the noise a motorized skateboard makes when going through a swamp in a bad video game, I should just kill myself. I'm a ghost now.

One of the 4 mount skill buttons launches it. It can fly for up to 5 minutes!!! 2 minutes longer than a glider. But it has no boost button, so it slowly descends and there is no way to get it to higher, so to go for the whole 5 minutes you need a really high jumping off point. I believe it is also immune to turbulence like the Pegasus, so you can ride it over the ocean for the whole 5 minutes with a high cliff to launch from. It's nearly identical to the pricey Celestial Pegasus. Peg goes 10m/s base speed, grif goes 9 m/s base speed. The big difference is that the peg can wear any mount armor, but the grif can only wear special armor from the cash shop.

Hasla was enjoyable if you got in on out when the swarm had the entire zone locked down. And you didn't need the bow, gently caress that thing.
