While we're at it, how about the headlining band whose drummer played on an album with a song about mutilating faggots?

After putting a rap group on a “death fest” and turning it into an overpriced 3 day Aus-Rotten tribute band concert, people were bound to get fed up with that poo poo anyway. The Disma removal will only assist in the creating of something apart from the Maryland Deathfest organizers crypto-indie inclinations. Like someone here said, that Infest logo looks like something a skateboarder would be endorsed by and the best band there is probably Immolation who’s going to play 8 new songs and 2 old anyway. This fest is just an excuse for people in their 20’s and 30’s to do designer drugs and have a network to enable them through the facade of a so-called subculture. A band like Disma who speak of the often morbid, objective truths of this world would be a wrench in any blind Fugazi fan’s limited scope of experience and the merchandise he MUST buy around him.

As they tell it, you see, it was not because they did not want to make a statement, but because in some imagined division in our mind, we — and the others who wrote to them — were not “journalists.” Never mind the hundreds of death metal, black metal and heavy metal bands who see us that way, or the work we do. This was a convenient lie for them to escape accountability. As word of Pillard’s statement spread, however, the retreat and backpedaling began in earnest.

Journalists don't write thousands of words complaining about "SJWs." God it's so embarrassing to even be interested in this scene sometimes.

Unrelated, I've been liking this Embrional album more and more. It's one of those that manage to sound classically old and modern at the same time. Loads of musty atmosphere, vaguely technical, songs that sound inspired and not like templates. Just ... great death metal, full stop.

Knowing very little about Disma or that there was even a west coast MDF, from what I can tell after five seconds of googling is that the singer did a side project where I guess he sang about how cool Nazis were or something, so now his main band gets booted from various shows.

That level of reaction seems a bit silly considering Scott Hull's bands play MDF practically every year and he was in Anal oval office.

The difference being that Anal oval office's Nazi sympathies always came off as an elaborate joke (regardless of whether it actually was). Craig's project appears on its face to be a glorification of Adolf Hitler, and when he's questioned about it his response is "gently caress OFF, LIBERAL FAG"

That's a weird read, they're all about the old stuff, and the only new bands they give the time of day to tend to be retro styled new bands. I think Disma sound a bit different from Incantation personally, but ymmv.

Their Sadistic Metal Reviews sections tend to poo poo on stuff like Swedeath revival, if I see them hype anything it's generally somewhat unconventional (though still retro) bands like Condor. It's hard to draw a border on their taste though.
