I was able to do about 50 pull ups when I was a 130 pound freshman from just doing literal hours of body weight workouts. Coincidentally I was also v. unfamiliar with the idea of squatting a weight. Leg muscles are heavy.

I weighed 155 lbs and ran a 5:30 mile. Probably could have squatted something considering how much running I did. 15 years and 50 lbs later... I'm probably stronger I think.

Consciously eating more isn't going to do poo poo unless you're tracking calories, because your brain will go "ok full now" and you'll be like 100 calories over what you'd usually eat. You tracking?

Had a five-week enforced absence from the gym, first time back yesterday: Main lifts were 5x5 bench, 5x5 rows, 5x5 ATG squats, nearly 10 tons total within 40 minutes. I am also over 40. Going to die and leave a swole skeleton.

Goon advice? I'm 6'-2", 275 pounds. Mid 40's. I want to lose 35 pounds. (Yes, 240 is actually a good weight for me, I have a huge frame and tree trunk legs.) If I were to go back to my 90's lifting routine, it would be: 1) Lead with a squat, deadlift or bench 2) Do 2-3 free weight exercises to hit the smaller muscle groups 3) Finish with some burn-out like a superset or cables or whatever I'd use periodicity on the big lifts, as in Week 1: 3x10 Week 2: 3x8 heavier Week 3: 3x12 lighter Week 4: back to 3x10 at higher weight Is that obsolete now? Any advice? Thanks.
