evobatman posted:The cheapest hair cut for men in Norway is about $60. A hair trimmer at our version of Walmart is under $30. I could buy a new hair trimmer for every single haircut, have my wife cut my hair and still come out ahead. (Cost of wife not included in calculations). When I was in Nigeria, the closest barbershop had a $3 haircut, and a $15 "European" haircut. The local haircut is anywhere from a 0 to a 2 all over. I just started getting that every few days because they took like 45 minutes each time and it was like an almost-free massage. A year later when I returned home, I bought some good clippers and haven't seen a barber since. It's good for traveling, too.

Regarding haircut chat, last year a short haired woman in Denmark sued a hair dresser for charging her the women's rate even men with hair as long as her's were only charged the men's rate. So basically the charge was that the hair dresser was discriminating based on sex. The court found in favor of the hair dresser on the grounds that women's haircuts are more technically challenging than men's.

With regards to hair stuff, My normally awful with money I'm totally going to make it as a famous actor someday cousin does have one thing going for him. He somehow got himself involved with one of those beauty schools, and they pay him money to let them practice on him. He's never had a bad haircut either, and it comes out looking better than asking a local barber to attack his head with some clippers.

Avatars and emoticons don't load here so yall are all anonymous to me! I went to get a manicure the other day and they said it was $90, but then would be an extra $20 to remove the old manicure. Bullshit! I walked right outta there and went to a different nail salon. ...where they charged me $98. I peeled off my old manicure myself because they were also gonna charge $20, they just didn't tell me that until I'd already been there for 30 minutes. Bastards. Maybe it's time I made my own thread, my money life is completely out of control and so far for October I have spent $3380 more than my paycheck. Dat lifestyle creep doe. In laws gave us a stay at a fancy hotel... thanks for the gift that cost me $1200 in airfare (sorry if that's a humblebrag).

I buy my own nail polish. Screw the nail salons and their overpriced services. You can learn to do everything they do at home with your own tools, or you can just do color and be done with it. No one can even tell the difference between a pro manicure and an at-home job if you practice enough. My own BWM contribution is that I've got more nail polish than I can wear in like 5 lifetimes. Don't even have any on my nails right now! But I am working on rehoming the ones I definitely don't want anymore, so there's that, at least.

Yeah um peeling off your own manicure because what they charge to do it is stupid is kind of like saying "yeah I'll have you do the stitches but that anesthesia charge is stupid, I'll just bash my finger until it's numb." That poo poo delaminates your nails, if you get acrylic you're opening yourself up for some nasty contact reactions/infections. Also switchback don't you live in Singapore? I am going outside to buy chips and nail polish.

This documentary claims that 70m Americans are locked out of traditional financial services. I don't know about the statistics but there's a lot of BWM. Some had bad luck, some made bad financial decisions and some a bit of both. The perspective of the documentary is skewed but it does show what a horrible trap payday loans are. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pTd9Z2nCjM0

Sure, but a buzz cut is a suboptimal (sometimes, downright bad) look for anyone who isn't balding, black, or has a jewfro. Like, look at Brad Pitt, he's particularly handsome with a buzzcut, but he's way hotter (no homo) with his frosted tips fight club haircut.

Honestly I forgot about the premium for 3d movies because I don't like them.

When people say they spend a lot of money on medication for children, is that normal in the US, and what's it for? I hear it a lot. As a child in the UK I was never on anything regular and even if I were it wouldn't have cost anything.

I have good insurance, which took the cost from $284 dollars for a teeny bottle to only $109. It didn't do anything so we stopped after that bottle ran out, but had we stayed on it there would have been $100/mo out the door. Heaven help you if your kid actually has a serious disability or cancer or something.
