And if you read the article, you'd see that the DGA pretty much punted on Kentucky already, which was dumb as gently caress, but they're clearly aiming for 16, 17 and 18, which present the most opportunities for pick ups, since there are more places to make Republicans waste their money. Also, 18 can't be "another 2010/2014" because basically every Democrat left is pretty much in a safe district. There's a way better shot for Dems to pick off Republicans in more moderate districts than the reverse. But gently caress, I'd hate to let reality get in the way of my doom and gloom.

It's a pretty politically aware city with mayoral race and a few controversial well publicized propositions on the ballot this year. Voter turnout yesterday was 30% of registered voters. Half were mail in, the other half walk in. That's abysmal. Massive GotV efforts can't combat people's laziness and apathy.

Where are you getting your facts? Because 2018 is a horrible map for the Democratic party, especially in the Senate. I think you are sticking your head in the sand. History and the facts point to the Democratic party losing heavily in 2018 if Clinton gets elected President.

FAUXTON posted:Grain Storage? How the gently caress does he not know pyramids are exclusively for dead pharaoh storage? He acknowledges that theory, then dismisses it. Ben Carson posted:“My own personal theory is that Joseph built the pyramids to store grain,” Carson said. “Now all the archeologists think that they were made for the pharaohs’ graves. But, you know, it would have to be something awfully big if you stop and think about it. And I don’t think it’d just disappear over the course of time to store that much grain.” I have no idea what he means by that, and I've read Exodus a bunch of times...

The House can't get any worse. The 18 Senate map is only bad because we have a bunch of seats to defend, but most of them won't be *too* bad (and we'll likely gain seats this round) Of those, Missouri, Montana and ND are the only ones I am really worried about. IN is prolly gone. But given: We'll likely pick up at least 4-5 of those (NH, ILL, WIsconsin, PA, and FL) and then depending could also pick up maybe LA and NC if things went really well.

I am sure Fried Chicken has some thoughts on that though. Dem's pulled some really strong candidates for '16, like Masto in NV (though that's going to be a tough race.) You are saying its likely that the Democratic party takes back the Senate in 2016. I think there's a very good chance that we can take back the Senate in 2016 and isn't simply "wishful thinking." At the very least, we're poised to do very well in 2016, and the 18 races aren't nearly as daunting as you're trying to make them. But then you're prolly penciling in an R for WV, which tells me what I need to know. Let me go further, prediction guys all list 5 seats that are held by Republicans as Toss Ups, and Ohio/PA as Lean R, which I think is iffy. There's also a shot a strong Dem could win LA if it involves Vitter because of the jungle primary. NC could be in play, but I don't think it will be.
