It still sucks, but now I guess you can penetrate cruisers and destroyers with your shells. Konigsberg is pretty good as long as you don't get hit. Really good AP. Also, the Fletcher was good before the patch, but now the fire rate got buffed and it's even better. 3 second reload with Basic Firing Training.

Were you shooting at a lot of BBs? Remember that xp is based on the % of a target's health you deal, not raw damage output, so 100k damage dealt to destroyers is worth more than 100k damage to battleships. Also you get a bonus modifier for hitting higher tier ships (and I think reduced xp for lower tiered ships).

Xp is not just proportional to damage from my understanding. It's also related to the proportion of damage you did to each target. So taking half a destroyers health is worth about as much as taking half a battleships. I could be totally wrong but that's what I've heard.

I was in a Tier 9 and did a shitload of damage to a Yamato, probably most of his hp with a couple long duration fires and 50 hits. Did good damage to like 3 cruisers too so it seemed odd. Maybe its because the enemy team still had like half their team left at the end of the game. I know in tanks that did affect your overall xp, it was like you got a small bonus for tanks blown up by your team. Next game I didnt feel like I contributed all that much and got more base exp, so it must have just been a fluky game that didnt pass the eyeball test. I like the 5 minute warning timer

According to the patch notes it's supposed to be +10% per tier, for a boost of +50% in that specific situation. Holy poo poo if they hosed up and shifted a decimal point. But if they did it should have been blatantly noticeable with any tier difference, so how the hell didn't they catch it in testing? Did they somehow manage to screw it up in transferring it to the main servers?

So I was in my North Carolina and put 15 shells in an Atlanta broadside at 10km and not a single citadel hit. Did they patch the atlanta giant citadel recently ?

I just got a New York and I'm getting absolutely destroyed in tier V-VII matches. I got so frustrated I rebought a Hermelin, upgraded it and stuck my best German captain in. As long as I stay a safe distance it's a brutal killing machine. Frequent citadels, slow stupid opponents, just fun all around. Over 1000 free XP every match basically. In a few days I'll go back to the higher tier matches and die again but for now I'm in heaven.

The only thing that really tears it a new rear end in a top hat is 6" HE spam from Omahas, Clevelands, etc To be fair, even disregarding the fact that you can very easily end up either caught with no escape or completely unable to shoot anything due to its low speed even in Tier equivalent matches, it does likely die faster when it runs into T7 BBs than the Kongo. Neither can particularly resist 16" shells, but the Kongo has more speed and maneuverability to help out in not getting hit. Against 14" guns it's definitely better though. Also, if WG really wanted to kill CV gameplay, this latest fuckup sure seems to be encouraging people not to play them. That issue needs to be hotfixed ASAP, not left to twist in the wind for a month like Yamato's CBT turrets.

Ugh, my interested in putting money down on this game just declined sharply. Was waiting for Warspite to go back on sale but I doubt I will go for it now if there is a similar bullshit Chinese line-up as what happened in WoT. Why cant they keep this stuff exclusive to the SEA server if they reallty must cater to China. IAnd it is not even like their tech trees are even associated with real nations anyway! God, I hate this. My interest in WoT died to the influx of prototypes, napkin designs and a dubious Chinese tech tree. Sounds silly to me, more ships is more variety which makes the game more interesting, it was getting pretty dull only seeing USA/IJN ships until recently. Although I do wish they're add the goddamn Royal Navy.
