Vanderdeath posted:No, seriously, how can anyone objectively say that Fallout 3 is a better game and story than New Vegas. Simple: Bethesda took a series abandoned/forgotten that I dug, and used their talents to make a better game out of it than the original ones. When the folks whose talents were responsible for the abandonment/forgetting made a game in the series after that, it was a step back. Can't fathom it? The NV thread is dotted with posters shocked that their friend/brother/mom/boyfriend/etc told them they like 3 over New Vegas. It's similar to Star Trek fans realizing that their friend couldn't stand DS9, or that Trek Show They Hate won yet another online contest... ImpAtom posted:Liberty Prime was apparently one of the most popular parts of FO3. I'm not big on him myself but they don't think that out of nowhere. How could it not be?

Fallout New Vegas wasn't really that good imo. I don't know why so many goons fawn over it. It was better than this game though.

With how ridiculous adhesive costs are I'm starting to think all weapon/armor mods are just strapping something to the weapon/armor and then wrapping an entire roll of duct tape around it. And then another one to be safe. Maybe keep a spare roll inside the gun as a backup.

New Vegas has references both subtle and straight to the other games including multiple characters appearing in New Vegas whose characters are half "hey, remember us from Fallout 2?"

What is your problem with it beyond "they reused a thing they did already" and "I don't like Liberty Prime." You really seem to want me to go "yes, it's terrible, how dare they" but I guess I don't see the issue? They reused a popular thing. It's kind of lazy and a cheap set of fanservice but I loved similar cheap fanservice in New Vegas so I'd feel pretty hypocritical complaining about someone else getting what they want. Apologies if this question has been answered already (I'm over 2,000 posts behind in this thread). I'm having an issue on PC with using a controller and navigating any menus within the Pip Boy, pause menu, or main menu. The issue is that when scrolling up or down in these menus I end up almost always skipping down or up two items and skipping over any items in between. This prevents me from selecting specific weapons or items since they keep getting skipped over. This happens regardless if I use the dpad or the analog stick to scroll through the list. Is there any solution to this other than use a mouse and keyboard instead?

Yeah, that's why I specifically used the phrase 'iirc' on that because I wasn't precisely sure about who specifically made Van Buren (I get Black Isle/Troika/etc mixed up given their shared fates). The point was that it took a comparitively outside company, Bethesda, to do Fallout properly in the modern era. Not surprisingly, an atavistic throwback wasn't as good to me. I'm sorry if I wasn't clear. MisterBibs fucked around with this message at 03:39 on Nov 11, 2015 |
