So I have a mall kiosk job for the holidays which means I totally WON'T be looking for a few turn based strategy games to play when I'm totally NOT sitting on my rear end doing nothing becsuse the owner is a friend and I'm helping out. I will need to be able to pause and help folks out and ring sales and not be totally anti social but 3 days a week for the next month it'll be dead so I need t good few of turn based strategy games. Then it will get busy enough where I won't be totally bored though.

Anyone looking for a Smash Bros type experience on their Android might want to check out Super Boys - The Big Fight which seems kinda decent.

Pixel Dungeon and its variants are turn-based roguelikes. Ditto for Sproggiwood. Not really a traditional strategy game, but roguelikes really scratch that "think before you do something" itch I want turn-based games to scratch.

Deep Dungeons of Doom is on sale for 10 cents/euros/pounds etc. Note this is the paid version: you might have the F2P version in your download histories which was pulled from the store a while back.

Aaaaand I picked this one up too. This is an RPG nicely suited for casual play on a phone. There's no roguelike exploration aspect, but it's pretty fun and has really nice art style that will tickle your nostalgia bone if your are an old like me.

The excellent but super stressful This War Of Mine has also received an update so you can play it on phones now. I've been playing Hammer Quest on my poop breaks and it doesn't let you do that and I would gladly pay to remove ads. I've dumped like 10 drat hours into the thing. It's super simple and not very deep but it's timed just perfect for bathroom breaks.

Don't think you can progress past level 100 till you reset. If you're near another tavern or vip upgrade do another couple of runs till you get it, otherwise feel free to reset whenever.

Neko Atsume recently got an English translation but I'm honestly not impressed with all the westernization. Dimes instead of ten yen coins, "tubbs" instead of satisfied-san, and loving "Guy Furry" for the chef cat? gently caress this, I'm going back to Japanese.

The japanese names are dumb, and only sound cool because they're Japanese. If the english translation changed the fat cat to 'Satisfied Cat', you'd be complaining even more. The names are almost all puns, and they're loving cheesy and great. Mr Meowgi, Joe DiMeowgio, Ms. Fortune (for the money cat)...so good.

I played Soda Dungeon way too much while home sick yesterday. My team got a massive boost once I finally unlocked Healers. Having to grind out the single-use heal items every fight was tedious as gently caress, and I hated how hitting a Drowsy Trap would basically end a run.

Either get the rare immune to status effect item on your healer, get two healers, or skip the door until you got knight, which prevent traps and ambushes.
