Happy Noodle Boy posted:I am hyped as all hell for this movie. It looks fun as hell with humanity pretty much spending all the time between the first movie and this one scavenging the alien ships and developing new technologies/ships/weapons to face any more invasions. Some of the concept art and ships they've shown so far look rad as hell and I think there's a moon base too. i hope this movie burns in hell

The MSJ posted:I think this is a bit more successful than Eragon, considering that stopped at one movie and now we are up to 3 Divergent ones. Because it's Special Snowflake.mov. I like the Asimov short story better - all learning was done via machine download, like the Matrix, only thirty years earlier. But, unlike the Matrix, you couldn't just download anything into people. Their brain structure and function would determine which knowledge their brain was best suited to receive. Simple stuff like basic language and maths anyone could get as a child, while detailed stuff like spaceship engineering could only be downloaded into certain brains and only when they came of age. As such school's simply didn't exist. After all, nothing you did would affect how your brain worked so you could enjoy an uninterrupted childhood of eternal holidays until you became an adult and the time came to have your brain scanned. The scan would determine which set of information would best 'fit' your brain and that was it. No arguments, no choice. Putting an incompatible job into your brain would lobotomise you. So you'd get the appropriate job downloaded into your head and that would be your job forever. Except some people couldn't accept the advanced downloads. Not even for stuff like poop janitor. Those people were quietly disappeared by the government for reasons the main character has to fight to discover and so on. The idea is still Special Snowflake.txt, but it was internally consistent and very enjoyable. Megillah Gorilla fucked around with this message at 10:48 on Nov 16, 2015 |

I guess people are going for a web 2.0 thing, but I think sticking with the flat white lettering would've been nicer. Consistent, really. At least it's quietly simple and busy like the star wars posters.
