So I finished the campaign last night. What an incomprehensible dumbassed shitstorm that was. Not that I was expecting anything different after the Blops 2 campaign. It's a shame because Blops1 did a great job of throwing you into this world of secrets and coverups and gave you a sense that nobody knew exactly what was happening and they were all just trying to manipulate poo poo for their own gain. In Blops 2 and 3, it also feels like nobody knows what's going on, but unfortunately that includes the actual writers. Tried the first mission or two of the Nightmares campaign, seems kinda fun. Wish the actual Zombies mode was more like that.

It takes three BlackCell hits (it doesn't have flares or anything). I'm surprised you hit it with the Annihilator, since according to the description, only missiles can hit it normally; I guess the Annihilator is special.

Highcal/Rapidfire or Grip/Varix Set it to low zoom, go hogwild. For whatever reason, when you're unzoomed, longshots trigger more easily. I finished gold on the ICR, fastest gun so far (648 kills, like 20% headshots). Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuck that gun, I got it done fast because I wanted out of that pos. So many loving fights lost at 3 hitmarkers. It was marginally tolerable with high cal/rapid fire. Normally I prestige guns and keep going, but that one I just kept it at 18 for the tiny ttk boost from rf, anything to make the pain stop.

I don't think I've gotten a single kill with just one headshot with high caliber on the Sheiva, unlike the beta where it happened very frequently, so I'm going to call it completely worthless for the Sheiva. What guns does it make the biggest difference on, on a bullets-to-kill basis? For example, for the ICR, would it ever turn, say, a kill from 2 bodyshots and a headshot into 1 bodyshot and 1 headshot, or 3 headshots into 2? *posts this and immediately stops putting off looking at a possibly relevant thread on the denkirson board* e: it wasn't versus fucked around with this message at 16:25 on Nov 16, 2015 |

Den's turned into a shithole, they modded some really toxic people and the regulars don't seem that great now either. The BO3 reddit is pretty bad (worse than Destiny ), and the 'competitive' subreddit... I'm not sure it'll be as useful as the pvp subreddit for Destiny (which attracted some helpful stats nerds). Anyway, highcal. As far as I can tell, it basically always strips one shot off stk if you get a headshot. I think this may even be true while silenced, which is crazy if true, I need to test it more closely, but I'm almost positive I got a few 1 burst kills with the M8 last night before I prestiged using silenced/highcal. On the ICR, that means a kill would be 2 body, 1 head, which puts its ttk down to 200 - suddenly competitive. Problem of course being I was usually competing against Gorgons and other ARs with highcal at long range (and/or just better ARs), and I don't find highcal reliable up close. I absolutely domed people and won fights at short range that I wouldn't have otherwise, but it's not consistent, and consistency is something I value considerably - particularly with the spawns as twitchy as they are, and with aggro players always up in your business with an smg even if they're stable. I haven't checked too closely if the multiplier is high enough (without silencer) to straight up kill if you get two headshots on the harder hitting guns. I know I've seen the XR-2 kill in two bullets out of a burst, which is just massively lethal - you can feel it when you die to that, you barely get a chance to fire a bullet and you're dead with the familiar icon down in the killfeed. I've honestly kind of avoided doing detailed testing because I figured some reddit hero (or Dens) would post a breakdown, and I'd rather play the game than test I am a little curious about the highcal/silencer though... hmm. Not sure what's up with the Sheiva, maybe they nerfed the multiplier on that gun specifically? If I was really feeling industrious, I'd sit down and chart out ttk with rapid fire, high cal, and quickdraw (counting ads time as part of your ttk), but

Yeah, silenced/highcal does seem like it could be what might make using a silencer decent, with the only (semi-)problem being I'd need to take primary gunfighter for handling (I'm usually relatively perk-heavy, with Flak/Tac Mask/Awareness and Ghost and a trophy system if possible). I think it was you who said that the Dredge is a candidate for being silenced due to its bursts and tried it for, I dunno, half a dozen games last night with some pretty decent results. I just wish it had a faster reload or more ammo per box. They absolutely have to have reduced something on the Sheiva, because it was a one shot headshot machine with thermal/high cal in beta. I'm sad. At least the Drakon is still retarded. MoW still not clicking with me after last night, but I'm also still stubborn about trying to use it without the grip. Your talk about silenced/high cal M8 potentially being strong makes me fear for when pubbies find out about it, as if they needed more encouragement to use it as their first or second prestige unlock like approximately 100% of them have done so far. (e: for the record, I chose Ghost so I don't have to slap a BlackCell on every class if I don't feel like it ) Nearly got my first nuclear on Exodus with the Argus, but died trying to rush for my 29th and/or 30th kill because the game was going to end in like 10 seconds because my team kept capping. Fuckers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm sad about denkirson boards turning to poo poo, but only because they haven't produced a comprehensive chart for me yet. e: Someone did link http://pastebin.com/aZdQbkv4 which I guess is from a guide or something but the formatting is awful. e: Mister Macys posted:Haven't had a problem with the mag size yet, and I don't bother with Scavenger; that's what other players' guns are for. Scavenger owns if for no other reason than scattering trophy systems across the whole map. Getting extra mags for my primary and having an excuse to bring frags to boost-jump-toss onto B when I spawn (I've gotten somewhat reliable at tossing them directly onto B from the C spawn on Combine, at least) is just a bonus. versus fucked around with this message at 20:37 on Nov 16, 2015 |

I'm glad they hid that stuff this time around, makes it harder for people to lobby hunt. versus posted:Yeah, silenced/highcal does seem like it could be what might make using a silencer decent, with the only (semi-)problem being I'd need to take primary gunfighter for handling (I'm usually relatively perk-heavy, with Flak/Tac Mask/Awareness and Ghost and a trophy system if possible). I think it was you who said that the Dredge is a candidate for being silenced due to its bursts and tried it for, I dunno, half a dozen games last night with some pretty decent results. I just wish it had a faster reload or more ammo per box. Yeah I absolutely need to look into silenced/high cal some more. I actually kind of like it because it demands you burn an extra perk to be invis, it's no longer a 'free' attachment as it was in the past. So some fun test results: HK-44 in optimal range, 2sk with highcal (body/head). 3sk silenced with a single headshot at range Manowar, 2sk (also body/head) Be careful with the MoW though, it has the worst reload speed of the ARs The ICR, keeping its crown as garbage, didn't want to shave a shot off while silenced/highcal. The HVK might, it has a tiny bit more damage, but I already golded it, so I didn't check I checked the Sheiva range - it still has the 1sk, but it's shorter range. They must have put in some special code there or something, because it absolutely does not fall off to 3 shots at the same distance you can 1sk. I have a feeling the HK is going to be really strong, I've already seen some high prestige players dominating some lobbies with it silenced (let me tell you how fun that was to fight last night solo with my ICR). The M8 (and XR2) I'm not sure about yet. I golded the XR2 already and I took scavenger/dead silence as my prestige perks, so I can't test the M8 more at the moment, but yeah, it's very possible that silenced/hc on those will be A Thing. As long as the headshot(s?) returns them to 'normal' ttk, that could make them pretty nasty. The thing about both burst ARs though, I've found I almost always need two (or more) bursts to kill anyway, so by that logic, you aren't losing much with a suppressor, and HC is just insurance to increase the odds of avoiding an extra burst. In general though, I think ARs need HC, and it's pretty clear why they put it in - so far at least I still generally feel like I have an easier time playing aggressive with an SMG than I do defensive with an AR. Some of these maps are absolute shitshows for holding an area (hello Combine). Still happier with where they are here than in BO2 though, I at least feel competitive with an AR. quote:Nearly got my first nuclear on Exodus with the Argus, but died trying to rush for my 29th and/or 30th kill because the game was going to end in like 10 seconds because my team kept capping. Fuckers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You weren't in the party so you couldn't hear me swearing, but I kept dying a few kills off Mothership last night with the @#$@#$ ICR. That's a pretty good metric right there. Called in multiple Motherships first prestige not using ICR, called in none using it Yeah, I have a lot of the data they usually release, but I'm reluctant to post it in detail for reasons, plus it's dated (doubly so due to recent mini patches). I'll keep sharing interesting tidbits as they come up. Really that poo poo is only useful for a handful of nerd tier optimizers, I'd rather let everyone else continue to rave about ICR BEST GUN 40 point font on youtube or whatever. If you enjoy it, cool, have fun. I'm still at the point where I'm golding every gun and going after lots of silly challenges, not worrying about my Pro Nuclear build just yet (I see some candidates, and when I do run what I consider a 'strong' setup, I absolutely feel and see the score difference, but whatever, more fun to direct impact people with the XR2 for now).
