I saw a buddy's 1059 the other day because he's building a reclass packet and he had a 99%; he also didn't get poo poo aside from a Commandant's List bullet. WLC grades are completely fixed. Mine was actually legit because, surprise, someone who has spent hours a day online since he was 10 years old can CTRL+F "cordon", and I don't know how loving dumb you have to be to not get a 100% on D&C or the tiny little self correcting land nav course we did.

We had someone actually get lost. It was in Graf during blizzard snow type aftermath.

But we had a lot of people fail out for academics actually. I think I messed one thing up in PRT (forward lunge was too fast) and maybe a few questions on tests that I couldn't cntl f.

I actually enjoy land nav and am pretty good at it, terrain association makes it easy. And by drawing pictures do you mean terrain sketches or something?

From what I've heard from a guy that just started ARC is that on day 2 they fly you out to some training area in Alabama on blackhawks. Apparently Apaches are somehow incorporated now too, some kind of aviation/ground asset interoperability training or some poo poo.

Good chance I'll be going to Ranger School sometime after ARC and SLC but at least it won't be in the winter like it will be for the IBCT guys.

Did OCS and the more physical part of ABOLC in the summer here at Benning.

Plus I'm from Florida, I'd say I'm fairly used to hot and humid climates. It's the cold that fucks me up. Did basic in the winter and I was sick pretty much the whole time.

Yup. Missed the goddamn ropes course I was looking forward to because I was in the hospital. Had a tooth yanked out too icy meant 48 hour quarters which meant I got sick all over again.

I got stuck in the Benning "infirmary" (a dark, dirty trailer) then recycled, which means I caught whatever hellish superbug(s) were floating around there and ran a fever off and on for weeks. In classic Army fashion, we were issued a single surgical mask per day. If yours overflowed with snot because of the weaponized smallpox you had contracted from being in the goddamn infirmary, tough cookies. Go ahead and suffocate in your sleep.

On the bright side, we got way more food than we needed and could go back for seconds. I loved pork rib days in the leper trailer.

I'm being encouraged to take correspondence courses for points right now. Thing is, i don't really want to pick up e5 or waste my time, so I might pass on that.

I watched a guy grind them out over the course of a month once. It looked miserable.

What is your MOS because when I was in the points for 11B was like 460 and the points for 13F had dropped into double digits.

Unless your points are ridiculously high correspondence courses shouldn't be that necessary. WLC is like 100 points by itself.

Huh, I just checked and noticed they're not as bad as normal. I'm a 35T and points are the lowest I have ever seen them at 336. It's not abnormal for ours to just sit at 798 for most of the year.

[edit] Yeah, and I'm close enough to freedom to start ACAP, so I don't want to bother with all this goofy poo poo that won't matter soon. I'd rather work on my real resume or school applications or studying for certification tests or, gently caress, play video games and let my dog chase a laser pointer.

Defense Distribution Management Course - 907 D23. Worth like 167 hours for two open book tests.

SSD Level 2 is so hilariously broken it has been cheesed by less honorable soldiers in a couple minutes by changing the URL to the last page of every module (though they did report that they had to actually sit through the land nav section).

Good suggestion. One guy was telling me that back in the day the ACCP was all scantron tests and staff duty used to have a binder full of answer keys so guys would knock out obscene amounts of correspondence courses in 24 hours.

After a 2009 Christmas Eve arrest of a soldier theoretically restricted to barracks our CSM changed all the assigned CQ shifts starting Christmas Day. My staff duty NCOIC had to tell a SGT at 2200 he had duty the next morning instead of opening presents with his kids. I gave him the rest of the block period off, at least.

I'm thankful I'm out.

Is also just a great insight to why supply section is so loving obtuse all the time.

Answer is that there trying please a million different committees metrics, so the easiest solution is to not issue the poo poo they're assigned, they just get new poo poo to not gently caress up the "actual" inventory.

Shits a nightmare.
