Onean posted:Mabinogi duel stuff To add to this: The main thing that make Mabinogi Duel different is that your deck is only 12 cards and you start the game with all 12 cards in your hand. There is no "card draw" and no functional difference between "deck" and "hand", which eliminates one of the major sources of rng in card games. Only 12 cards means it's very easy to build a functional deck, and being able to trade cards with other players only makes it easier. On the "trading cards" though, you can only trade cards with people you're physically close to, or with a rooted android or rooted android emulator on PC with a gps faker. This seems boneheaded, but the devs mentioned in an interview that Korea had some legal hoops to jump through regarding trading items of "value" online and they were still in the middle of resolving it, so it probably won't stay this way forever. The PVP Arena is where you play live against other live players, while the Vet and Rookie arenas are against the AI piloting other players' decks. The AI is decent, but doesn't use specific combo cards well, so the metas are completely different. PVP has the best rewards for the least effort, Vet rewards decks that can consistently hit 15 win streak, and Rookie is for decks that the AI can play well so you rack up points while you sleep. Top 10 decks are publicly available to view, but only on the "collect rewards" screen right after an arena ends. The main source of whaling comes from "mutant" cards, cards that are off-color or +1/-1 in level. You can only get these from the mutant boosters that cycle every 2 hours and people will trade multiple 4* for a good off-color mutant primarily because their source is time-limited and rng, but you get so many free booster coupons from placing decently well in the arenas that even an f2p player can get a good library of mutants in time.

On the topic of Mabinogi Duel. The Cat merchant he pops in every 20 to 30min of play time to offer you trades. His offers are pretty much always in favor of himself and the common traps that get newbies are him offering you the ultimate cards of each camp(cost 18+ resources). He is also your most likely source of mutants do excercise common sense when trading for these. There is no downside to asking him to shuffle your offered cards.

Soda dungeon: I am on dimension 3, is it worth grinding more for ragezerkers? I haven't been able to reach floor 300 yet and can unlock darkmages now but I don't want to waste my gold. I was excited when I first unlocked the conjurer but they turned out to suck hard so magic seems like a bad choice
|
# ? Nov 23, 2015 15:45 |
More relics = better than. Plus it's easy to make gold the higher your dimension. And don't discount dark mages. You need them to get past boss 400, and their magic attack can be very useful for groups. It poisons and dazes. Well, there is a chance of each.

Keep in mind that even though they're unlocked in the VIP menu, you still lose ragezerkers between dimensions. Also, thieves have two accessory slots and an excellent relic, they are very good. Dagger Toss damage won't hold up in the long run.

Dark mages can definitely be helpful for the boss at level 400, but I wouldn't say you need to use them. I managed to kill the boss with only a merchant, knight, healer and thief after an unfortunate mishap on the floor before. The merchant's special skill takes the boss down to half health and the knight and thief can usually out damage the reform if you're specced for crits. The fight is even easier if you have the sword that can burn the boss and put it to sleep.

The Duggler posted:Thanks for the advice, is it possible to get my guys to use their MP potions on auto? Nope. Fortunately, Knights let your team hit the occasional detour Fountain because those doors aren't trapped anymore. I put Hero Blood on everyone then something like the purple goo or the crit glasses on people with another slot because I use Forks. The heal item isn't worth it eventually, and there are enough Fountains to not make manually healing MP worth it in my opinion.

Like 4 dark mage and a knight is what people use to climb to multiple thousands of floors.

Yeah, once you get the Dark Mage relic they get a single target spell for big damage. At that point just let 4 of them wreck house and prevent Ambushes + enable Fountain heals by adding a Knight.

Alas no, just a screen featuring Nixon's head surrounded by a pile of Tricky Dick fun bucks. The game seems fine for what it is. Considering how rich the universe is its just a shame they went with the match 3 genre (though the story tries to justify it).

Also, maxing the crit chance relic and going for Forks at the start of every dimension is dumb. 85% crit chance for everyone before finding demon armor or crit glasses is very nice.
