Would be curious to see what other people's experience with the drop system has been.

So was pubbing it up on forest, was fun but uneventful until patty spawned. He got stuck on the rock's invisible walls, just like I do, trying to get at someone. He was stuck there until he decided to run away. Felt bad for him cause those invisible walls around rocks on that map seem to stick out too far, or not allow you to walk over small bits, which gets you cornered real easy. Anyways, he's on his last legs, patty stops points his gun up in the air and fires fireballs into the air. It's loving Armageddon for about 5 seconds. Explosions everywhere! My screen is constantly shaking and I was lucky to be standing in an area that didn't get too saturated with flaming death. Someone got vaporized real quick for standing in the wrong area and didn't move fast enough. It was awesome. Then he died, cause it is normal and everyone was pretty competent. Edit: I haven't gotten a single drop other than the one way mentioned in the thread. It was some kind of "crate" USB I guess. Sold it for $6.

That way you actually have a chance to out run him if you are quick and smart enough. And if you get caught it's your fault.

I think it'd be cool if matchmaking wouldn't drop you into a game that's midway through the boss wave. Also, a suitable compromise on Armament would be to let medic grenades repair armor again.

I got a ski mask. If the drops are similar to other games expect a few days between drops + a few hours playtime required Things this update got right: Gunslinger is usable at level 0, unlike basically all earlier classes Gunslinger balance seems decent - but I'm low level so we'll see revolver twirling

From my experience Gunslinger is a pretty solid class, specially at removing specialist zeds and using mobility to survive against swarms, the .500 is specially hilarious, I am still level 4 and I managed to kill four clots with a single shot, it is also pretty decent against Scrakes. Fleshpounds with their bullet resistance are pretty much the only thing the GS can't deal with reliably, with the caveat that I've only played the class on hard so far.

It looks like Patriarch is resistant to basically all damage types, save for EMP and Microwave. In contrast, Hans is "only" vulnerable to toxic, EMP, slashing, and explosives. Patriarch loses EMP resistance, but gains resistance to fire, piercing, bludgeon, and ballistic. Both are pretty resistant to explosives, though, so lol if you like playing Demo for boss waves. E: And despite what it says in-game, both the datamined spreadsheet and the patch notes suggest that the "Rack 'em Up" skill is +10% per headshot. I think that might make it a competitive choice, but one that is dependent on the way each person wants to approach the perk. Overall, I think Gunslinger is really strong as far as competitive skill choices go. LuciferMorningstar fucked around with this message at 00:56 on Dec 6, 2015 |

How do you sell drops? I don't see my yellow bandana in my Steam inventory, or any way to market it in-game... Also TW please move the flashlight source up and to the left/right so it looks like it's actually on our shoulders now and not strapped to the middle of our faces. One of the Brutal Doom mods does this and it adds a surprisingly immersive feeling for how simple a change it is. If you want to troll your own forums you could even make it so the character has to actually reach over to turn it on and off, interrupting firing their weapons for a brief moment. The pubbie tears, I can imagine them now

Single Gunslinger pistols are awesome backup wepons for classes like the Medic. When I play Medic, I try to get a Desert Eagle ASAP after purchasing the Medic AR because it's the perfect mix of cost, power, ammo reserve, and reload speed for a sidearm.

She Bangs the Drums posted:At least we got Pat now! And Patriarch is a convenient demonstration of why Hans is bad boss design. He has distinct phases, like Hans, but in those phases he gives the players a chance to catch their breath - regroup, reload, hit the syringe. He's tough but you can manage him. That's a real point in favor of Patriarch, at least, being Tripwire learning from their mistakes. Good! Now if they'd retroactively apply that lesson to Hans... on the other hand, Patriarch punching a guy from 80+ health and 20 armor straight into death is pretty bad. Gonna hope that's a bug.

I didn't know the player's movement slows down the lower their health is, that's a weird and pretty crappy design choice given that it just causes enemies to catch up easier and deal more damage through no real fault of your own.

Has it always been that when firing automatics from the hip, the bullets will sometime go off center directed upwards? It looks like the bullets are coming out at odd angles for a split second then return to normal. Really messes things up when trying to use the medic smg cause you pull down compensate, but then your bullets start going straight again and now you are shooting at feet. I don't remember ever seeing it ever before.

Pffffffffffft thanks, the only other other game with marketable items I have is TF2 and I haven't touched that in years, I didn't remember that it creates a new tab for each game. I'm about to get an internet upgrade, if TW ever releases the server software for Linux I could probably stand up a simple one on a spare Lubuntu box and leave it in the corner or something. I'll keep an eye on things.

I don't remember ever seeing it ever before. Dunno about automatics but boy. LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT MEDIC DARTS. I mean they are fine when you fire them locked on, but sometimes there's no time to lock on and the guy is straight in front of me, so I try to fire anyway. Then the game decides that this was not what I wanted and makes the darts shoot towards one point on a map, no idea what it is, but it's always someplace high. So chances of hitting the player I wanted to heal are pretty slim. Orange Crush Rush posted:Oh okay. Is there any common servers goons run on? Demo at least has some utility because he can take out Fleshpounds easily, and maybe groups of zeds (but it's essentially just a race to see who can kill everything first with so many classes being good at crowd control). Now that gunslinger is here to literally one-shot just about everything that commandos excelled at killing and almost being able to solo large zeds, it only casts an even more glaring light on the issue of how unhelpful a commando is to the team when there's simply just better options. When you look at class distribution in teams, you look at what's missing and think, "No demo? Fleshpounds are going to be an issue," or "They don't have a medic, they're going to have problems with health." When there's a support, you think "Oh, that's going to make damage dealing easier. Especially if he shares ammo." I don't think anyone has ever thought "Oh man, we don't have a commando, now who's going to kill trash?" or "Thank goodness, a commando! Now I won't have to worry about stalkers!"
