The first half of this is great, Graham kinda goes off the cuff and you can tell this is his "honesty" moment. He has nothing to lose, and he's completely right about why the Republicans are gonna lose.

Just make sure to turn off the speech when he starts talking about Benghazi, if you couldn't already figure that out.

Voluntarily start self-enforced mass automatic censorship programs on their posters. You laugh, but Israel is already asking YouTube to start self-censoring Palestinians posting pro-Palestinian videos that incite violence. And in case you think "That's silly, why would YouTube agree to that?" There's a class-action lawsuit filed in New York claiming that Facebook is liable for letting terrorists connect to each other and spread information about how to stab Israelis. In the lawsuit, which 20,000 Israelis have joined, the plaintiffs are demanding that Facebook automatically detect and stop terrorists from finding each other and sharing this information without requiring people to report it first (i.e. automatic self-censorship).

The bill to ban people on the watch list from buying guns that Obama wants would allow for the potential purchaser to challenge the decision.

(The bill in the Senate last week did not.)

Obama's recommendations for Congress:

1. No guns for individuals on the "No Fly List"
2. Prohibition on high caliber weapons
3. Stronger screening for individuals who come to U.S. without visa
4. AUMF for a war against ISIS

Only one of those is going to happen.
Lol, we literally just discussed the fourth one like five pages ago, and why it didn't work the last time Obama tried it.

Kurds are Muslim and they're already doing exactly that.

Obama should probably point this out if he hasn't already.

How exactly would you enforce that? Have a dedicated crew of people at Facebook monitoring posts? Flag posts by keywords?
Seems like it would just make these groups congregate to more secretive, harder-to-track services.

The articles don't elaborate too much, but some combination of algorithms to flag and human intervention in reading flagged posts, most probably.

And you're right, of course, but that's not going to stop the people demanding that these services censor their users, especially when they can argue that the initial radicalization often happens as a result of susceptible people connecting to radicals on these services, and those susceptible people wouldn't use those "more secretive, harder-to-find" services.

Weird. Is this because they actually care about due process and don't consider the no fly list to be valid, or does the gun lobby want literally as many people as possible to pass the background check no matter what?
