Yep, certain Ferraris are surprisingly cheap to buy.. they're within reach of a middle class dude looking to fulfill a dream.

The service costs are hilariously absurd though. You'll own the car, but won't be able to drive it.

Which is why the NSX I mentioned before makes way more sense to satisfy your midlife crisis craving. It's basically just Honda under the skin so the powertrain isn't too expensive to service.. it's really only replacement tires that will generate sticker shock. The front wheels are set by default for a lot of toe-in to help stability, but it shreds the rubber. Front and rear are difference sizes you can't rotate them either.

This is something to be happy about - they're still fun cars and are worth very little. This is like one of the core pillars of AI.

INTERNETRACECAR has one. I don't recall what he paid for it, but basically it needed a bunch of work (including the IMS bearing iirc) and was kinda beat, so he got it for way, way less than he should have. Cool car, and it's funny as poo poo that he has it plus a fleet of old broken subarus and VWs that rivals my yard full of jeeps, subarus, and military trucks.

I just did a quick CL search in my area for Boxsters and holy poo poo they're much cheaper then I thought. I guess I just assumed they were still pretty expensive used.

He hasnt messed with it in a long time too and its hilariously reliable when he has to start and move it out of the way of the other cars.

There's a group that runs Boxsters at several races we've done with World Racing League. Pretty quick and look like they would be fun to toss around the track. Spec Boxster is apparently growing pretty fast so there's a lot of them being wrecked on track but parts availability seems good and reasonably priced.

If you're talking about the red anodized cap item, looks more like a fuel pressure regulator. There's no real intake plumbing and that AN hose is too big for boost/vac.

I could see dropping a lot of weight off a boxter and doing something dumb like putting a bridgeport 13B in.

It's camouflage, a deliberate pattern of normalcy practiced in front of the mirror every morning, because if that mask ever slipped...

...they'd never understand. Built up so much. Wife, kids, a job, a career, respected member of society. It never got any easier but for whatever reason people were always willing to assume the best. That I was like them. But I never felt accepted. There was this yawning hunger I had to satisfy, this need.

My wife didn't know, or if she did, she would never dare speak her suspicions out loud, would never break the spell that kept relations cordial and lifted the great dream of our lives together to the public eye; she kissed me goodbye as I stepped into my Mondeo to attend a "business trip." Yeah, some kind of meeting with big wigs. In an industrial estate in Leicester. Cell phones wouldn't work there, honey, some kind of ionizing space radiation.
