Anime is the reason that huge nerds think girls want guys to blush and stammer and not be able to just say some loving words to them. That's how conversation works in anime, everyone takes thirty minutes to say something that should take twelve seconds and has to explain their entire thought process while they're at it, and when your entire exposure to social interaction is anime, it produces that. Though that did make me realize that the horrible tell-don't-show and overly-expository dialogue/stage directions that is one of my major gripes with most anime also probably had a huge effect on the people who obsessively RP in WoW. Most of the WoW "storylines" I saw over seven years of reading chat logs when someone invariably got reported for "disturbing my RP" were basically anime with elves, someone was always getting maimed or kidnapped or turned into a half-demon every ten seconds, dialogue took way longer than it needed to, everything was overly-explained on DBZ levels, and that was the ones that weren't just huge Mary Sues.

I think it's pretty sad actually, I mean we aren't all a 9/10 on the hotness scale but my god you make up for it (or try to) by being 'normal' when you're trying to get to know new people. That pixie girl is a bit chubby, fair enough but hell I've been in the sack with girls like that but who were fun/normal etc etc. It's just a shame she doesn't see what her persona does to her shagability. Same with that guy on the text photo *wrings hands, wonders if she'll say yes* - jfc, just ask the girl out for coffee!!
