To be fair most things with wheels are just losing the wheels from being a "hover" something. Planes are maybe the exception.

Nitrox posted:Because other than wheels it's kinda similar to one? Hoverboards are used like a skateboard. "Hoverboards" are used like a Segway. Hoverboards don't have POWER. "Hoverboards" you lean and they move under their own locomotion. Hoverboards are kickin' rad. "Hoverboards" are pathetically uncool.

I've actually seen someone on one of those things on a busy city street, and they're even more stupid-looking in-person. Not to mention slower than the average walking pace.

I saw a large group of people taking a segway tour of Denver a few months ago and I actually started laughing when I spotted them. Soon enough we'll have "hoverboard" tours - god bless America.

My cousin got one for Christmas and she was speeding around the street by day's end. I got on it and couldn't muster to go any faster than maybe a light jog speed, but it was cool as poo poo to roll around on that regardless. Getting on and off of it is one of the harder parts, and that's where most people have problems. Makes me think that most people just have poor balance and coordination. nerd plus rage posted:Only store I've seen them they were being sold as "Swagways." That's probably the only manufacturer who hasn't had battery issues and guarantees service on their boards. Edit: Apparently they're also one of the oldest manufacturers, and just recently dropped their prices to a more affordable level. Eldritch BiLast has a new favorite as of 18:28 on Dec 30, 2015 |

Right. Because virtually everyone involved in the writing, directing, and acting in Stripes had nothing to do with National Lampoon whatsoever.

Now you guys have made me go look up that National Lampoon's High School Yearbook Parody and discover that it's now available on the wayback. I always wondered how they would render the exchange student's name, even Unicode doesn't have some of those letters E: haha, it's an OCR trainwreck Data Graham has a new favorite as of 00:38 on Dec 31, 2015 |
