I was hoping the title change was because someone posted a story where they were describing one of their coworkers reactions to something not being osha compliant I was disappointed

What the hell, does Brazil have two different voltages within the country? Edit: Yup, they do, and of course Brazilians use the same plug for both mains voltages. Jasper Tin Neck fucked around with this message at 00:35 on Jan 11, 2016 |

I believe that they also have a large rotary converter station that allows them to send power between the 50Hz and 60Hz grids.

VectorSigma posted:they have both 50hz and 60hz because utilities on opposite ends of the country imported their first generators from different countries (germany and the US) No, in Brazil different parts of the mains network have the same 60 Hz frequency, but different voltages. A difference in voltages seems like massive fire hazard, whereas a difference in frequencies mostly seems like a good way to screw with impedance tuning.

Texas has its own rotary converters (or rather, the solid state equivalent). It’s not entirely clear to my why Texas’ grid can’t be synchronised with the eastern or western interconnection, but for whatever reason, it isn’t.

This picture practically fits the Golden Mean, very visually stimulating. Obvious the dumpster is just stuck there and the operator is checking out the forums waiting for the boss, but drat if that isn't the impression that he's gonna get crushed.

Starting August 1st, OSHA penalties will increase to index it with inflation. The maximum penalty for serious violations will jump from $7,000 to $12,471. Still a drop in the bucket but at least it could help.

There's been an incident on a Carnival Cruise ship a couple weeks ago that resulted in a remake of the elevator scene from The Shinning. With fair warning that there's a quite gory picture, here's an article: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3379131/It-nightmare-Christmas-Waterfall-blood-pours-elevator-crushes-cruise-ship-worker-death.html Elevators will gently caress you up the second you give them a chance.

The illustration makes it look like there are outer doors. Were paternoster elevators even installed in residential buildings? They're kind of meant for a constant stream of passengers. -e- Varning för klämrisk. None of the elevators featuring the warning sign are paternosters when doing an image search. They were just too cheap to install cabins with inner doors, so people can get stuck to the elevator shaft. Lurking Haro fucked around with this message at 03:19 on Jan 12, 2016 |
