just read like ten pages of this thread. the best clone utility is booting a random linux live usb and use dd (or ddrescue if poo poo's hosed up). then afterwards use fstrim if poo poo's on an ssd. there's a lot of overengineered cloning utilities out there.

15.4/15.6 is the perfect size because it'll fit in any backpack and is large enough to really see poo poo. plus 15.x is way more likely to have a good resolution instead of 1366x768 crap

speaking of sizes, i got a request from a colleague with some funky specs dude needs a bunch of monitors but desk space is at a premium i thought about buying a bunch of 15.6 laptop panels and adding in control boards, but i'm keeping that as plan b because i'd rather keep diy projects out of the work environment are 15ish inch monitors even still being made in higher resolutions?

If you want a mid-size display you'll pay out of your nose because it's a specialist item for weirdos. Pretty much the only widespread use case I can think of is cash register displays (lol $500 for a 15.6" 1366x766 or 1024x768 dogshit monitor in tyool 2015). Comedy option: Build a wall of raspberry pi displays and drive them over a terrifying number of HDMI ports.

could you describe the office/setup/dimensions a little more? and what the actual need is? if this is a guy who wants more monitors but has a really tiny office, maybe what he needs first is a larger office??? also depending on how much space is available, maybe check into those new 34" ultra wide displays, like this LG model. 3440x1440 in one package could use less space than separate monitors while still offering huge resolution

I have a pc with two platter drives. One drive is dedicated for Windows, the other is dedicated for data. I want to move the Windows drive into an ssd. Is there a simple way to do that? There is more than enough empty space on the current C drive to make it all fit in the new ssd.

my router is dieing. it freezes randomly, refusing to load pages, citing dns errors. it had no problems upto about 2 months ago. nothing changed. I need a new router. What's the current hot goodness? I was thinking of getting one of those mikrotik routers, but i don't know how much I would enjoy messing around with stuff. i figure it might be fun for a while but ultimately annoying, idk. also, depends on how good the devices are. would prefer something that support tomato or dd-wrt since i like some of the features I can find on them that don't seem to be available on other router OS' (like dnsmasq)
