This isn't really competitive yet, I really do love Bernie and what he's doing for this primary let's not get carried away.

It's closer than expected, in that HRC hasn't already clinched it, but nationally she's up by 25 freaking points in the primary.

That's only with democrat past primary voters, overall it's far closer with independents, new voters, and republican switchers

Also state polls of Iowa and NH are better indicators of a future election than national polls, thus why Hillary is starting to be scared

It's pretty competitive, but it still favors Hillary.

Minority votes don't count for Bernie Sanders.

Like, really. For the Sanders campaign, they'll count within the margin of error to be statistically significant within Iowa.

Why are the first two primaries in the whitest states in our nation, again?

That was single WSJ poll which only included same vague criteria for committed voters.

Let's look at the overall trending for the race on the national level:

Clinton does have a vision for America and a strategy to achieve it.

Unfortunately, unlike Senator Sanders, candidate Clinton is restrained by these things called 'facts' and 'reality' when attempting to communicate her policy stances.

You could just go read Sanders policy posts, he's got pretty clear facts on how his legislation would be once he gets enough people to pass his legislation

But I thought he fell down on that question about the VT single payer plan. He should have been prepared for that. It was an opportunity to explain how his healthcare plan makes sense, even if it raises taxes, but he totally faceplanted on it.

he addressed it later on by talking about a slight middle class tax increase in exchange for a larger reduction in health care expenses

unfortunately not in context of the question about vermont's failure to pass single payer but that's kind of a different issue

If anything it's a easier race this time around since the field was cleared from competition.

In the last failed primary bid she had more competition from within the party.

Which is going to be a real bitch to explain to most voters, who will hear "Raise your taxes" and not "Get rid of premiums". Messaging is very important for something like that, but he has not figured out, IMO, how to actually do that here.

They are "facts" by being based upon assumptions which have no evidence behind them.

Hillary Clinton represents evidence-based policy, while Sanders' policy proposals are the political akin to shooting blanks rapidly from the hip.

Which, inidentally, is something you can do thanks to Sanders' votes against gun control.

I'd say that's bad for him, yet his poll numbers keep going up.

Because these debates have been cordoned off and then presented in a silly corporate one-sided way after, so it's not like Bernie has really even been using "mainstream TV" like this anyway.

In fact that's probably Hillary's great weakness. She thinks people care about and follow the TV network's view of things WAYYYY more than is realistic.

Seriously she is the only one in the last 8 years that came close to beating Obama. NH and Iowa ( can't remember what the 2 letter abbreviation for it is ) are 2 little white states for a party that is mostly minorities.

Hillary was thinking before she responded. It's her primary contrast to Sanders: Hillary prefers accuracy over ideological purity.

She had every paper advantage in the book such as recognition, endorsements, experience brag, political connections and still lost to Obama.

A good amount is how HRC has crippling personality flaws such as surrounding herself with Yes men and also how she lashes out at people when things don't go her way.
