I hadn't really thought of it since it was a thing I did by accident but what the hell I'll come up with some ~formal rules~

Bronze challenge: Complete an advanced or elite STF without a shield.
Silver challenge: Complete an advanced or elite STF without a shield and without dying.
Gold challenge: Complete an advanced or elite STF shield without a shield, without dying, and no one on the team has a shield either.

Any previously slotted 4th Anniversary Dyson Science Vessel reputation projects will now accept 6th Anniversary Prize Vouchers.
Resolved an issue where the various Omega crafting materials could not be stored in Banks and Account Banks.

Optimization improvements have been made for powers to help alleviate some of the lag some players are experiencing.
No functional changes to powers have been made for this.
All items that have been made available in the Winter Event reputation store should now appear in the store when the Winter Event isn't running.
New Weekend Events have been added to the February and March calendar pages.

Lol at this thread where a pubbie demands action against Gorn jokes in ESD zone chat.

angry pubbie posted:

International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR). Article 19 of the ICCPR states that "everyone shall have the right to hold opinions without interference" and "everyone shall have the right to freedom of expression; this right shall include freedom to seek, receive and impart information and ideas of all kinds, regardless of frontiers, either orally, in writing or in print, in the form of art, or through any other media of his choice". Article 19 additionally states that the exercise of these rights carries "special duties and responsibilities" and may "therefore be subject to certain restrictions" when necessary "for respect of the rights or reputation of others"

So he quotes a passage about freedom of expression in an attempt to force censorship onto others. Classy.

The exceptions which he failed to bring up are:

quote:

(a) For respect of the rights or reputations of others;
(b) For the protection of national security or of public order (ordre public), or of public health or morals.
I wonder if the real reason is because he identifies as a Gorn and find all the jokes aimed towards fictional caricatures in a fictional universe as offensive towards his fictional avatar and his fictional kind.

If you're looking for some good Gorn puns to drop in the thread, you should ask Grimrak. He's good at coming up with those things.

So I've returned and dumped a bunch of my Dil into Zen, which I used to purchase the Jupiter Carrier. Nobody has made a build for this thing on the Wiki yet. Are the Gold Plasma Proc consoles stacked with Anti Proton beams still best in slot for DPS? Also, are using Tac +Beam Consoles from the fleet vendor still the way to go?

Yeah, pretty much. Nothing's beat AP beams yet and the embassy/spire consoles are still (usually) best in slot for their respective slots. There's nothing really fancy to do there, load it up with science fuckery, put the universal seat in tac so you have enough powers to work with there, and go to town. :effort:

I've also found the ship extremely squishy compared to my old Tholian Recluse, here's what I've slotted for BoFF Skills:

Tac Slot 1: Tac Team & FAW2
Tac Slot 2: Tac Team & APB
Eng Slot 1: EPtS, Eng Team2, and EPtWIII
Science 1: Small Hull Heal, Extend Shields, Tykons Rift, and Gravity Well
Science 2 : I have no loving clue what to put here.

There's only ever like 2-3 builds active in STO at a time, if you can recognize the handful of powers that make it work on one ship you can apply it to any other. Or at least be able to identify which ships are "bad" because they don't let you run the build. Right now the available builds are "the one that shoots" and "the one that shoots a little less, but also throws science." I thought someone put a sci build up on the wiki the last time I offered bounties for articles?

MikeJF posted:

Truth be told, the solutions I've suggested are:
  • Have a queue in mind that you want to do, scan your first particle, use the fleet starbase (or other appropriate) transwarp to get to your second particle, scan the second, do the queue, and by the time that's done, your transwarp will be cooled down in order to get to your third particle.
  • You could use the transwarp cooldown doff with one of those transwarp cooldown singularity/warp cores, if you feel like messing with your equipment/doffs.
  • Well Travelled, the (misspelled) bonus trait you get by beginning the mission “Tour the Galaxy” and visiting at least 8 sector blocks within the 15 minute timer, reduces your cooldown by another 20%.
  • If you're a non-Romulan Federation officer, the T5 Excelsior has a few extra transwarp locations. If you're Federation-aligned, the T3 Excelsior's console, which can be slotted onto other ships, also reduces cooldown (50%).
