So I am like 6-7 hours into the game and the avenger just had its engines disabled by a ufo (which I did not see on the world map :/) and I'm doing a base defence now and this seems impossible since if I move forward I activate like 2 berserkers and MECs is this meant to be this early? It seems pretty hard out of nowhere.

Six hours in you should be rocking some decent weapons and armor so yeah. The game will continually throw enemies at you during the mission so rather than trying to kill all of them you should try to shoot the target from range and gtfo

For berserkers it is pretty easy to throw them into blind rage so if you tag them at the back of a group of enemies then they will smash everyone between you and him in the process.

Outright banned by ADVENT and all industries attached have been dismantled. Pretty clever really, it would certainly hamstring any resistance when you cant refuel your battle bus.

They passively boost research times, but you get diminishing returns for each new scientist. Labs counteract that so you can squeeze more thinkjuice out of them.

Offense and Defense are both 1% chance to hit so yes that's basically correct. It works like Darkest Dungeon in that if someone has 0 natural Defense and you want to have a 100% chance to hit in high cover, you need 140 offense.

Having a silencer should add a mini timer of a turn or two before you lose concealment for an ambush. The downside is that the weapons do less damage and are less accurate at range. Higher level silencers decrease the aim penalty at range.

Flashbang applies disorient. Disorient is -20 aim

It's quite weak compared to EU so you still get shot.

Also covering fire still sucks imo. Bad. Unless something has changed its over watch penalty AND they're in cover so you get that penalty too. I guess it's possible they made the cover bonus not apply but that's how it was in eu

That's how Disorient works with regard to the player, but I'm actually not convinced it works that way with regard to the AI. There's a bunch of things we could presume work the same way (such as close range bonuses) that simply don't.

Now that said I didn't even click the reddit page so if he's failed to even provide the line of code where he thinks this is happening then yeah he's probably just straight out wrong.

They'll still blow concealment if they run through red tiles. You typically have to choose between breaking concealment to attack (if it's advantageous) and having them sit out that encounter to maybe sneak up on further pods.
