Captain No-mates posted:So I am like 6-7 hours into the game and the avenger just had its engines disabled by a ufo (which I did not see on the world map :/) and I'm doing a base defence now and this seems impossible since if I move forward I activate like 2 berserkers and MECs is this meant to be this early? It seems pretty hard out of nowhere. Six hours in you should be rocking some decent weapons and armor so yeah. The game will continually throw enemies at you during the mission so rather than trying to kill all of them you should try to shoot the target from range and gtfo For berserkers it is pretty easy to throw them into blind rage so if you tag them at the back of a group of enemies then they will smash everyone between you and him in the process.

After finishing Veteran last night, I am starting a new campaign on Commander with self imposed Iron man since a couple of goons posted that they had a total loss due to bugs. I have imported the goon list and will be posting KIA shots. Maybe a Legendary pro can point out flaws in my tactics too. Anyways goon KIA #1 on mission #1 goes to Ciaphus "Commissar" Cain. Sorry buddy, that scope drop was too good to pass up and you were the only one who could get it. Blame FraudEcon for missing his overwatch shot. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gnVzy1-7lnc

I really like the idea that explosions cause a threat assessment level or something that the more you use the more likely reinforcements get called in, with each explosion triggering the chance for harder enemies.

Hey, does the GTS specialist-overwatch aim bonus also negate the aim penalty that overwatches usually have? Probably one of my favorite specialist abilities is the ability to put someone else in Covering Fire overwatch when they're using an Aid Protocol gremlin. LOVE IT.

Actually I think that guy was full of poo poo and people just bought into it when he didn't actually have any numbers for his 50 claim Flashbang applies disorient. Disorient is -20 aim It's quite weak compared to EU so you still get shot. Also covering fire still sucks imo. Bad. Unless something has changed its over watch penalty AND they're in cover so you get that penalty too. I guess it's possible they made the cover bonus not apply but that's how it was in eu oswald ownenstein fucked around with this message at 19:31 on Feb 9, 2016 |

They'll still blow concealment if they run through red tiles. You typically have to choose between breaking concealment to attack (if it's advantageous) and having them sit out that encounter to maybe sneak up on further pods.
