Beyoncé and her dancers were dressed in black, like the Black Panthers apparently, and at one point the stood in an X-shaped formation, which is wrong because Malcom X is a black person other than a Disneyfied Martin Luther King Jr. and therefore the real racist. Her latest video also alluded to police brutality and Hurricane Katrina. Some other people are mad that Coldplay's stage had rainbow stuff, and is therefore gay propaganda and not just the same motif as their latest album cover.

I'd love to see the alternate reality version of this where the Panthers won. Of course Ramirez likes the Broncos winning, what with their good Republican quarterback* who loves Papa John's and actually has pretty much the closest thing to a Ramirez head of any actual person in the world. I doubt he would've been so enthusiastic about the Carolina Uppities winning. * Who had basically nothing to do with the Broncos winning, holy poo poo is their defense insane

I literally expected the last panel to be those two making out. (Also the "if Bernie loses I'm going to Trump!" crowd still confuses me. One's espousing socialist policies and the other fascist policies. I can see why either set would appeal to people but not both)

Of course, conservatives have despised Beyoncé long before this (see: Mike Huckabee condemning her music while playing bass for Ted Nugent). Shockingly, they appear to have a fairly low tolerance for outspoken black women, unless said women are also conservative true believers.

"Politics," in the context of "bringing politics into it," always means "expressed support for an oppressed group." When a figure says something controversially right-wing, liberal people call that person a lovely rear end in a top hat. When the situation is reversed, conservatives treat it as a transgression of some kind of sacred division of magisteria. It's their way of coping with minor, gradual marginalization. It's infantile, but not incomprehensible.

It was impossible to even interpret a political message from Beyonce's performance, because it was a single part of an entire pageant. Coldplay played out one of their wet farts, before transitioning to Bruno Mars playing Uptown Funk. Then Beyonce led her Formation which immediately transitioned into Her, Bruno Mars, and Coldplay all playing Uptown Funk together. There wasn't even any time to absorb what was going on, because the entire affair was one massive Pop Culture Cronenberg monster. All of this outrage only came out in post, once the usual talking heads got to give their Hot Takes about the lame rear end half time show.
