This. They're people who haven't been able to figure out how to interact with women, and instead of admitting their own flaws and improving they decide to create convoluted faux-psychology that painstakingly explains how women are just biologically programmed to be awful people and therefore their inability to get laid is undeserved fraud.

Don't you know that whenever a reboot/sequel/remake happens, all existing copies of the original are rounded up and destroyed? So when the new Ghostbusters comes out, the feminists will send out a beam erasing every copy of Ghostbusters 1 and 2 from every VHS, Laserdisc, DVD, Blu-Ray in existance, then they pass a law saying that you can't talk about the original, or you get sent to a gulag. Like how when the 2009 Star Trek came out, the original series was memory holed and removed from pop cultur-hang on, the thought police are knocking! Seriously though, if its bad, everyone will forget about it in a year or two, aside from jokes about how bad it was compared to the originals. I'm hoping it's good (and they'll give it a less confusing title).

It just saddens me that there's this much pissing over a new Ghostbusters film that's being put together by a genuinely great cast/crew, yet there was next to no whining about a Point Break remake (that looked ands sounded shite and pointless from the word go).

I saw a surprising amount of promo for it. I'm starting to get the feeling they were targeting me, and me alone. The original is such a drat good movie, they could probably get away with rereleasing it into the theater again and pretending it's a new movie and hope nobody tells the younger generation.

I think I only saw the trailer for Point Break in theaters once and a small handful of online ads that slipped past my ad blocker. The majority of the push I saw came from the Payday 2 tie-in.

I thought the Smurfs were communisms, not Confederates? Does this mean that the Smurfs are pro-slavery? And no, no matter how much you put the stars and bars on them, it#s impossible to make a smurf look intimadating or bad rear end.

ToxicSlurpee posted:Most people are just plain ol' heterosexual. People that are not heterosexual are getting a lot of attention lately because there's a ton of sociopolitical attention on LGBT rights. People are creating safe spaces for LGBT people because, well, people are often lovely to said demographic and they'd like to have somewhere they can go to feel safe, thanks. Suddenly though being just a plain ol' heterosexual is boring. You don't get a safe space and special attention if you're straight. By definition, because most people are plain ol' heterosexual, being heterosexual is normal. It's standard. More importantly it isn't special. So now you have people that so desperately want to be super special unique snowflakes inventing new sexualities so they can be different and special too. I know this is a few pages back but the LGBT communities are, by large, only catering to white cis gay men or gold star lesbian types. Almost any sexual minority outside of either gay or lesbian get ignored, shunned or told that they don't belong (like bisexuals, holy poo poo does everyone randomly hate bisexuals). Hell, even Pride Toronto has decided that Black Lives Matter should be leading the Pride parade this year because apparently police brutality against minorities has more in common with LGBT than not having financial sponsors that have super anti-trans policies.
