No, the only thing Mod Organizer handles is things in the Data folder. just install them like normal (put them in the root directory) and it works fine. This is the same thing you do with F4SE as well.

Fallout 4 run through Mod Organizer 2 crashes without fail when I hit New game or Load Game with Reshade installed like normal. I'm not running F4SE at all. When I remove Reshade, it works. There's a few issues I remember from the issue tracker that recommended to remove Reshade to get it working, so I figured it was a known thing. So was that a no, there's no way to get it to work? I don't see why making an official and professionally done (by Bethesda's standards) DLC with new assests based on a popular modding idea for the last couple of games is a bad thing? Obviously its something that the community is interested in, so its a good idea. Unless you think that the original modder owns the idea of making robots or something?

That's fine. When it's presented as paid DLC, that's when it gets a little iffy.

I am assuming they are going to be putting some effort into it with new models/dialogue/mechanics etc etc rather than just crossing out that guys name and writing Bethesda though.

Bethesda isn't taking anything from the mod. They're making their own content. They're not even ripping off the idea really. (the concept of crafting robots in a game with a big emphasis on crafting is not novel, sorry.) In fact I'd wager they had this planned out before the game was released. Anyone claiming Bethesda is stealing the mod or otherwise complaining about it is retarded but we already knew that because

The question is whether they have $10 worth of robo-buddy ideas, especially with RobCo Certified setting the bar for a mod like that.

I'm not too bothered by Bethesda having similar ideas to me- I mean, I made RobCo because it seemed like a natural expansion to Fallout 3, so I'm surprised it's taken them 3 games to implement their own take. Particularly after it's been shown that people like the idea. It'd be nice to get a reference of some kind in it but they've already possibly given me one with the Wasteland Whisperer perk so... (It has triggered some 'maybe I should apply for a job there once I finish my PhD, they can hardly turn me down!' musings though)

I'm going to assume that Bethesda will gently caress up a bunch of poo poo with the build your own robot thing that will need mods to tweak and fix for me personally, but they will provide new assets and animations and hooks into the main game so it's all good. What I'm saying is that I think Fallout 4 needs some major overhauls already and I assume the expansions/DLC will as well, and modders always do that stuff better than Bethesda. I'm just hoping they release an HD/4k texture pack because even on ultra a lot of the textures are stretched and blurry. Maybe it's because I play in 4k but yeah, it's still not great to look at sometimes.

Try as i goddamn might, MO refuses to play nice with Homemaker and Armorsmith. Homemaker causes CTDs when attempting to navigate the build menus, and Armorsmith's custom gear is either invisible or bright pink missing texture blobs. Tried them each as the only active mods to rule out conflicts, tried having them installed in the data folder instead of through MO, no dice no matter how I slice it.

SeanBeansShako posted:Also, what does proc mean? Proc is ancient vocabulary and in its original form was short for "procedure call". If you were playing a Multi-User Dungeon (think Zork, the MMO) and you had, say, a sword that would set things on fire, or do anything besides damage, after it did the damage check it would have to call the procedure that set something on fire or whatever. As the people who played MUDS moved up into graphical MMOs, they brought their lingo with them, and "proc" was applied to any ancillary effects not directly triggered by the player. From there it entered the general lexicon. Any additional automatic effect - one triggered by game code rather than player input - is a proc.
